Title: Women's NCAA Tournament Post by: Catch Prothro on April 01, 2017, 06:50:04 AM Women's NCAA Tournament Final is all SEC, South Carolina v Miss State.
SC took out Stanford last night. And Miss State beat favorite U Conn in OT. U Conn was riding a 111 game winning streak, including an undefeated season and national championship last year, as well as an undefeated season this year with all wins in double digits. Last year, Miss State lost to U Conn in the Sweet 16 by 60 points, but last night the lady bulldogs out hustled U Conn, lead most of the game, and came away with a win in the final second. Title: Re: Women's NCAA Tournament Post by: N.AL-Tider on April 01, 2017, 06:58:20 AM Amazing! There are a lot of men's teams that would have lost to the lady U. Conn team. I have been extremely impressed with how they just kept on and on winning. To have an SEC team beat them in the Final 4 is outstanding. Having an all-SEC final in the NCAA Women's tourney is outstanding as well...
Congrats to both of the SEC teams. Now hopefully USCe men can go and win the men's side... #+ #+ #+ Title: Re: Women's NCAA Tournament Post by: Chechem on April 01, 2017, 07:04:03 AM Amazing! Read link.
Quote Mississippi State arguably had the toughest road to the Final Four this season. The Bulldogs beat a 27 win DePaul team in the Second Round, followed by Kelsey Plum, the all-time scorer in the sport’s history, and the Washington Huskies in the Sweet Sixteen - a match-up that every ESPN expert picked Plum and Washington to win. State used a big fourth quarter from Teaira McCown to beat the 3rd-seeded team by double digits. http://www.forwhomthecowbelltolls.com/2017/3/30/15106392/2017-final-four-the-uconn-preview-mississippi-state-basketball-vic-schaefer  Title: Re: Women's NCAA Tournament Post by: Marshal Dillon on April 01, 2017, 04:41:05 PM UCONN Women Starting Lineup:

I'm not a fan, but this is 2 SEC schools and MSU had that gigantic win over UCONN in the semis.
 Title: Re: Women's NCAA Tournament Post by: 2Stater on April 02, 2017, 05:57:12 PM MSU looks emotionally spent. USCe up 31-20 in the 2nd quarter.

Yeah that was my big concern for them coming into the game. The UCONN game was so big and overwhelming they may not be able to recover. Title: Re: Women's NCAA Tournament Post by: 2Stater on April 02, 2017, 06:05:13 PM They aren't giving up, but they've got an uphill climb, being down by 10 at halftime.
Title: Re: Women's NCAA Tournament Post by: Marshal Dillon on April 02, 2017, 09:47:40 PM Congrats to the USC Women's basketball team and their National Championship. Good job. Won 67-55.

Not a good matchup for Miss State, which lost three out of three to USCe this year. Not a good matchup for Miss State, which lost three out of three to USCe this year. Miss. State helped USC win the NC by beating UCONN. During he regular season UCONN had beaten SC 66-55. Not sure SC could have returned the favor in the title game. :dunno: |
