Title: What we've learned, still hope to find out from Alabama spring practice Post by: SeniorTSM on April 04, 2017, 11:35:51 AM http://www.al.com/alabamafootball/index.ssf/2017/04/what_weve_learned_hope_to_find.html#incart_river_index (http://www.al.com/alabamafootball/index.ssf/2017/04/what_weve_learned_hope_to_find.html#incart_river_index)
Quote "We feel one of the strengths of the team is the running back position," Saban said Monday, "having the three guys back from last year plus adding a few more that are out there right now that are showing good promise and potential. I think it's one of the strengths of our team and we'll have to find roles for some of those guys because they're some of our best players at that position." Hope so, but Bama is going to have to throw the ball more this year too. :D Title: Re: What we've learned, still hope to find out from Alabama spring practice Post by: 2Stater on April 04, 2017, 11:53:14 AM http://www.al.com/alabamafootball/index.ssf/2017/04/what_weve_learned_hope_to_find.html#incart_river_index (http://www.al.com/alabamafootball/index.ssf/2017/04/what_weve_learned_hope_to_find.html#incart_river_index) Quote "We feel one of the strengths of the team is the running back position," Saban said Monday, "having the three guys back from last year plus adding a few more that are out there right now that are showing good promise and potential. He was a great recruiter, but we've had some real studs at the OL that just didn't play to their potential. I'm hoping since he's gone, they will be coached up to pop those holes for the running game, and give better pass protection. That should give us a great mix of run and pass. I'm already hearing that Hurts is lighting it up through the air in spring practice. If that will carry over to the season, Lord help our opponents. We have never recovered from the loss of Jeff Stoutland as OL coach. He was the OL coach of the 2011 & 2012 teams. :( Title: Re: What we've learned, still hope to find out from Alabama spring practice Post by: ricky023 on April 04, 2017, 03:04:42 PM Yes sir I wish we had Stoutland back. He made some ?NFL O-line guys. RTR!

They knew we were running, and they couldn't stop it; it was just physical domination. We need that again. Title: Re: What we've learned, still hope to find out from Alabama spring practice Post by: McBaman on April 05, 2017, 01:19:41 PM What I want to know from spring ball is this: Can Jalen complete a 5-yard pass under pressure when it's 3rd and four to go, and you need to maintain possession of the ball? I don't care how much he may be "lighting it up" in practice...can he complete a 5-yard pass under pressure?
Title: Re: What we've learned, still hope to find out from Alabama spring practice Post by: ricky023 on April 05, 2017, 02:40:52 PM McBaman I hope he can too but we have to realize last year he was a Freshman and didn't know what SEC and NCG college football was like. He does now. Plus we have a new QB that will push him I think. RTR!
