Title: Alabama vs FSU-One Look & Prediction
Post by: Marshal Dillon on June 21, 2017, 04:40:05 PM
We will see more of this stuff before the real season starts. 65 days until first college football game on August 26.

Quote
None of Nick Saban’s disciples have beaten him, and Jimbo Fisher will try and make history in that respect. Florida State will also try to become the first team in the Nick Saban-led Alabama era to knock off the Tide in Week 1.

Quote
Florida State will come up with a tremendous first half. By the early third quarter, social media will have handed the Heisman to QB Deondre Francois and announce the end of the Saban era at Alabama as we know it, but then the Tide will turn things around.

This prediction goes against the way FSU has played in many big games in recent past.  They fall behind in the first half but come on strong in the 2nd half, and frequently win the game that way.

I'm guessing the key for both teams will be defense.  Bama's revamped D could get torched in the 1st qtr but needs to get a grip by mid/late 2nd qtr so we don't fall too far behind.  It will help if Bama's O can possess the ball and give D time to regroup on the sideline. (Doesn't that sound familiar!!)

Don't know how well our OL can handle FSU defense.  That will be a big key for them...and us.

Jimbo is a pretty good game day coach.  Our new O-coord will have to earn his $$$ for us to win this one.

I'm still not sold on Jimbo as a big time head coach. He had 2 great years mainly due to the lobster thief QB, the rest of the years are somewhat average.

98 to nothing.  HTH.

Is Jalen Hurts still in school?  I'm not worried.  I know a winner when I see one, and that kid ain't nothing but a winner.

BINGO!! I still can't believe the number of fans on this site & calling in to Finebaum who were throwing this kid under the bus due to the Clemson loss. Then, many fans were giddy on the signing of Tua & hoping he would replace Hurts. Really sad & bizarre stuff from the "fans."

Tua will replace Hurts, but not until after he leaves with a few rings and fancy trophies.

I really think FSU will be a very close game.  I think the main focus will be on if the Bama D is up for the test (like was said above).

I expect our O to be very good this year. Dangerous good. Like once they start to stop one thing the new OC throws to the TE and then they try to stop that and we run over them, then they try to stop that and we throw to Ridley, then they try to stop that and Hurts takes off for and 75 yd TD. LOL

Whoa, slow the premature predictulation down! We've still got 44 days to go. We don't want to jinx them.  :lol2:

Not sure I'm ready to go there, as 28-0 seems the norm from years past.   ;D

Jimbo has had one very good year and two great years, and 4 average years. So which FSU and Jimbo show up this year. He has 16 returning starters but no QB and he lost his best RB.

I forgot about that Ole Miss debacle early in the season last year.

I enjoyed the Alabama take over on the SEC Network yesterday. I watched a good bit of the Washington replay. We won with ease and the defense was outstanding. It reminded me how many offensive penalties, mistakes and negative plays we had last year. We have to clean up that part of the game. Too many mistakes that killed drives. It finally caught up to us in the second half of the Clemson game.

Well if we have very many more Hnd's in action our team will be so thin you can read a newspaper through it. RTR!

The offensive line has never been the same since Jeff Stoutland left for the NFL after 2012.
