Sophomore Terrell Lewis/redshirt junior Christian Miller, 3. freshman Vandarius Cowan Notes Lewis (formerly Terrell Hall) is poised for a breakout year. Jennings, meanwhile, is a physical player who is strong against the run. And Miller is an athletic redshirt junior who has put on about 25 pounds since arriving at Alabama and will be expected to make an impact even if he doesn’t start, especially as a pass rusher. Cowan is a young, athletic, versatile linebacker who’s been described as a quick learner with big upside. Notable numbers — At 6-foot-4, 240 pounds, Miller ran the 40-yard dash in 4.69 seconds during the spring despite having a sports hernia. He also bench-pressed 405 pounds, posted a 9’11” broad jump and had one of the top vertical jumps on the team (35 inches). — Tim Williams and Ryan Anderson, who are both now in the NFL, accounted for 18 of the 21 sacks among Alabama outside linebackers last season. Miller had the most sacks among returning outside linebackers (two). Jennings posted the most tackles among returning outside linebackers (19). Didn't see that coming with Terrell Lewis.
