Title: NFL Great Jim Plunkett says 'My Life Sucks' at 69 Post by: Marshal Dillon on August 04, 2017, 03:04:44 PM Sad to read this. What a great QB, first with the Stanford Indians (won Heisman), then with the Raiders and won two Super Bowls.
Quote The report said Plunkett has endured 18 operations and lives with artificial knees, an artificial shoulder and debilitating pain in his surgically repaired back. http://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/nfl/nfl-great-jim-plunkett-says-my-life-sucks-at-69/ar-AApqpE2? IMO, it's actually a product of what was apparent better protection, which just made hits harder.

So all the hitting and keep hitting stuff takes it out of the human body which is not made for the Mack Attack type pounding. JMPO. RTR!

What's going to happen is parents won't allow them to play football & will direct them to baseball, basketball, & soccer. Good to see you responding to a thread.   Title: Re: NFL Great Jim Plunkett says 'My Life Sucks' at 69 Post by: SUPERCOACH on August 07, 2017, 09:49:51 AM That's no good. My son was an excellent athlete in football, baseball (especially BB), and basketball 12-15 years ago. He dropped football & baseball (crap). I have to say his mom & I were not sad to see him quit football. :dog: Title: Re: NFL Great Jim Plunkett says 'My Life Sucks' at 69 Post by: Marshal Dillon on August 07, 2017, 02:06:54 PM That's no good. Ever been hit in the with a soccer ball? It hurts!!! I've read concussions are prevalent in soccer, but it's not reported. I wonder if we can start a Checker & Chess League for kids and adults? :dunno: Title: Re: NFL Great Jim Plunkett says 'My Life Sucks' at 69 Post by: SUPERCOACH on August 07, 2017, 05:59:41 PM That's no good. Our rec league has a no header rule, so at least they are not running around trying to slam their head into the ball. :lol2: |
