"Sacks are not something that is a critical statistic in winning," Tide coach Nick Saban said. "I think pressing the pocket and pressuring the quarterback is, but it's something we definitely need to improve on, especially for the game we have this week."

Saban felt Alabama got enough pressure on Penn State's two QBs to force them into having poor games and a 12-of-39 passing aggregate between the duo backs that contention up.

Dating back to the SEC's inception, the Crimson Tide own a 53-21-3 record in conference opener, a mark heavily padded during a 19-game winning streak which dates back to 1992. Four of those wins have come against Arkansas, including the last three. The last loss was a 35-0 blanking at Florida in September 1991.

Alabama owns a gaudy 15-5 record over the last three years against teams ranked in the Associated Press' Top 25. That includes a 9-3 slate against Top 10 teams. One of those victories came last year at Arkansas.

I've thought on a couple of occasions that I, as a fan, would love to see us getting more sacks. However, it seems that as long as we can put pressure on the QBs and force them to make mistakes (i.e. incompletions and turnovers) that is just as good, if not better.

Also, understand with the game plans many teams come up with have the QB getting rid of the ball quickly.  You won't see as many sacks.  Also when they do try to go downfield there is max protection.  I will say Bama does not seem to have that one guy who can really just beat a guy one on one.  The closest to me is when they put DH down and let thim go.

Dre seems always in the vicinity.
