Title: Alabama Injury Update & Other Stuff
Post by: Marshal Dillon on August 24, 2017, 06:49:12 PM
I don't think Jacobs will be ready for another 3-5 weeks. Just my opinion.

Quote
-- Saban said Alabama is being cautious with running back Josh Jacobs, who isn't really practicing. He explained that hamstring injuries are "sensitive."

-- Saban said that freshman Jedrick Wills is competing with Matt Womack to become the team's starting right tackle.

And this.

Quote
Saban said it's conceivable Alabama will use multiple kickers Week 1 and punter JK Scott would be used on long field goals while Joseph Bulovas and Andy Pappanastos will compete for the job of taking the shorter tries.

I will probably cover my eyes every time we have a place kick.  Maybe for the entire season.

You should be used to the kicking game by now.

Whatever happen to the days of our older kickers when they could win games on the last kick? RTR!

I can't figure out why other teams, like Auburn, FSU, Georgia, etc., seem to always have good kickers but we struggle. Strange.

 ???

I'd rather win championships.

Might have won more with a solid kicking game, like 2013. No rule against having a good kicking game just because you have a great defense, solid running game, and good QB.

Jacobs isn't going to play vs. FSU.  We will need him in the back half of the season when guys start to get banged up.  The earliest I see him getting limited action is the OM game.  Might want to have him available for aTm the following week.

Yep, Ole Miss is September 30th so he should be ready. The problem is he may be out-of-shape and running tentatively. I just hope no RB's get hurt. Jacobs is an excellent RB and he plays special teams, too. I really like his playing skills. He returned the blocked punt for a TD against Florida in the SEC Championship Game.
