Title: tOSU v Indiana Report Post by: Catch Prothro on September 01, 2017, 08:56:24 AM Mighty Indiana gave tOSU all they could handle in the first half, leading 14-13 at halftime. tOSU scored their only TD in the first half after Indiana threw an INT in a goal-to-go situation, returning the INT close to midfield and then driving down the field for the TD.
It looked like tOSU was trying to guard their playbook in the first half, using the same anemic offense that scored zero points against Clemson in the playoffs. But a different tOSU team showed up after halftime -- Indiana defense was unable to match the speed of tOSU's H-back, and Indiana's offense turned the ball over several times. I don't think we were seeing the second ranked team in the country. We probably will see that on Saturday. RTR!

Alabama has had some ugly wins over the Saban years and the team still did good during the season. Urban Meyer is a good coach, too, as much as I hate saying that. Remember, Tide 12 UT 10 & Tide 26 Aubs 21 both in 2009. Tide 20 Miss. St. 7 in 2013 (MSU lost 6 games),Tide 14 Arkansas 13 in 2014 (really ugly win with Arky losing 6 games that year). Those are the few that stick out to me, especially the UT & Arky games. :dog: Title: Re: tOSU v Indiana Report Post by: 2Stater on September 01, 2017, 04:02:32 PM Mighty Indiana gave tOSU all they could handle in the first half, leading 14-13 at halftime. tOSU scored their only TD in the first half after Indiana threw an INT in a goal-to-go situation, returning the INT close to midfield and then driving down the field for the TD. I didn't see the 2nd half, but apparently, they had a bowl of Wheaties at halftime. Still too early in the season to tell if they are any good or not, but I was not impressed with what I saw last night. I'll reserve definitive judgement until they actually play somebody. I watched a little of the Arky game and the Okey State game. Arky is still meh, but Mason Rudolph with Ok St is the real deal. He threw some impressive passes and their receivers are very good. The jury is still out on their D. Gave up 24 to Tulsa. Methinks it will cost them some games in conference play. At any rate, some good warmup games last night leading up to the big boys playing this weekend. I'm back in P'cola for the long weekend and I'm breaking my spot back in on the couch and loosening up my elbow, to be ready for the 12 oz curls. I'm soooooooooo ready. Title: Re: tOSU v Indiana Report Post by: ricky023 on September 01, 2017, 04:21:26 PM I am not sure how you judge a team at all with the schedule some of them are playing. When they play one big boy ball team and then play 9 toddlers they are never tried so they are never tired. How can you judge that kind of team strength? Was Indiana really that good of a team? RTR!

I didn't see the 2nd half, but apparently, they had a bowl of Wheaties at halftime. I would stay away from that stuff if I was them. Might turn them into cheerleaders. :dunno: Title: Re: tOSU v Indiana Report Post by: 2Stater on September 02, 2017, 04:18:04 AM tOSU looked very slow in the first half at nearly every position. No real surprise, FAU has been terrible. He had 37 last-chance players transfer to FAU, and they are attempting to run the Baylor style offense with Bryles Jr. as OC. (Kiff's bro from Ole Miss is DC). Kiff does have some athletes to work with, but they are clearly learning the playbook, timing, etc., so it will be a year or so before they start to gel.
Title: Re: tOSU v Indiana Report Post by: ricky023 on September 02, 2017, 09:48:27 AM Well I have to say I hope Coach Kiff does good. I still agree with him that if he had remained as OC we would have won the NC. On to further things and better now. RTR!
