TUSCALOOSA, Alabama -- Alabama coach Nick Saban ended his Thursday night radio with strong encouragement to fans to stay until the end of Saturday's game and make as much noise as possible.

"Every time they come to the line of scrimmage, we should make it difficult for their quarterback to play," he said. "Don't think you're not having an effect on the game. ... Make them go silent. Make their players react to the snap of the ball so that they can't hear every play of the game.

"That will be a tremendous advantage for our defense, and it will create some problems for them. But you have to do it."

"You want our players to our players to play every play of the game, compete for 60 minutes in the game," Saban said. "Well, you know, I don't get any hot dog at halftime. I don't. I don't even drink a Coke. I coach the team at halftime. You get your little halftime break, and then you have your little ... back in your seat ready to go when the next half starts.

"We started out slow in the third quarter. We can't do that. We've got to establish the rhythm of the game from the beginning to the end, and everybody's got to play 60 minutes in the game. That's what we expect from the players. That's what I expect from the fans, because you can affect the game. ..."

The posters on another board (I won't mention the name) used this opportunity to say Grandma and Grandpa shouldn't go to, or be allowed to go to, Tide games since they don't bounce up and down like idiots to the Black Eyed Peas. No way in Hell did Coach Saban mean that. For that reason alone, the older guys on that board should realize it is for punks and switch to CRS.

Last Saturday's game, the student section and the south endzone sections were empty after half time. That was embrassing.  :-[

I always stay until the end, always have, always see something that you would miss otherwise. Mainly see the future stars making up next years team.

Last week it was the goal line stand by the backup defensive players. There are many older people that scream and holler. I am one of them. Plan on making alittle noise tomorrow myself. YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH!

Most students don't have to worry about traffic (still no excuse) but leave anyway. Ungrateful punks.

One "YEAH" for each seat, Hank?

When I was a student (99-03) I don't remember the student section emptying out in the second half every game like it does now.  Now that we have so many out of state students at UA I think they should require the students to take a test on Alabama football history in order to get tickets.

I know many of the seniors from our section and others moved into the 'Zones' after the north and south endzone expansions. Those are the glassed end areas that are underneath  the upper decks in the endzones. That is what they are called 'The Zones". Zone seats require a Tide Pride donation of $1500 each. There is food served with dining tables to sit  at and TVs everywhere. Real plush areas for watching games. My donation to Tide Pride for 4 seats in section L is $520 and I count $480 as a tax deduction.

Point being we all will get old (with God's blessing), --even the punks that complain the seniors don't make enough noise.  They have paid their dues for Tide tix and, bless their hearts, deserve a great gameday experience, moreso than maybe anyone in the stadium. Again, no way was CNS pointing at that group when discussing crowd noise.

I heard this live last night and it was awesome.  He said "every ass in every seat".  He did not say anything about standing up and acting like a fool.  He was talking about the student section leaving the game early.

When I was young my parents carried me to the ballgames. Then up until 2002, I carried my parents to the ballgames for the the last 15-20 years. I just hope my children have been paying attention. Ha ha.

It is what it is.  Can't really blame them for leaving early with a hot coed on their arm.

Vinnie Sunseri's ankle tackle at the goal line was worth the price of admission!

If my date, hot or not, was sqawking to leave a game early, that would be the last time she'd go with me. Give her cab fare to get home on.

Not the kind of girl you would want to marry, true.  One of the best things about my wife is that she is almost as big a fan of college football as I am.

Can I ask a question.

Why is it that with 100k people that BDS is not loud?
It is the design of the stadium? I think the loudest I have ever heard it was a game long ago I went to when UGA was leading at halftime by almost 21 and Bama came back and kicked a FG to win. The stadium erupted and was loud as I can ever remember.

But during a game I can't ever recall anyone on TV saying they just cant hear down there.

here is a link to a video and an blog about what coach said.

I don not agree with the blog at all.

Fans should do their part. If you just want to watch stay home give me your tickets. TV has better views.
