Gosh, this is one of those wait and see deals where I want to hurry and saw. With all the speed we have and talent how in the world can we not find a punt returner or kick return guy? Arenaz was our last good guy I can remember for a threat on TD runs. RTR!

At this point I just want someone who can catch the ball cleanly every time.  Our offense is good enough to score the points, if they get to run a play.

Eddie Jackson was pretty good, Preacher.

I used to love returning punts.  You're watching the ball come down while these guys are running at you full speed.  You can't look at them and catch the ball, so you have to have this sixth sense of where they are coming.

I think our guys are hearing footsteps, or taking their eye off the ball.  They are not naturals like Arenas or E. Jackson -- those guys loved returns -- our current crop is running scared.  Maybe they saw what happened to Eddie.

The staff needs to pick not the fastest guy, nor the best receiver, but someone who wants to be a great return guy.

But I'm with SC, all Bama probably needs is someone who can safely catch the ball every time.

Thank you Jesus!
Do we have a new special teams coach that I hadn't heard about?   ???

Yes he was 2 and thanks for the reminder. I had forgot him. RTR!

Saban was saying in one of his pressers that Minkah was taking reps fielding these. I just hope they don’t put put him back there. Hate to see him hurt.

I really don't see any reason to panic here.  There are guys who can do the job, they can't force themselves to make a play.  If a fair catch is the play then they execute. Don't hurt your team because you want to make a play.  I know fair catching is frustrating if that is what happens most of the time, but the main concern is what is best for the team.

Good points, coach.

Might add that Minkah might be back to catch punts, but doubt he returns any.  Hopefully we won't get so worried that he has to catch them.

I would rather Fitzpatrick not return punts.  As pointed out in the last game he is too valuable to the defense.  Heines up in numerous positions and makes sure others are lined up correctly.

I agree. MF could make a good returner, but Bama doesn't need him back there at this point in the season.  All we need is someone who can fair catch the football.
