Title: Saban, Muschamp meet again
Post by: pmull on September 26, 2011, 04:50:46 PM
The Gators' new head coach served as Saban's assistant for four seasons when he was at LSU. In fact, he wearing purple and gold on the LSU sideline when Saban's team snatched a last-minute victory in the Swamp in 2004 when Joseph Addai caught a touchdown pass with 27 seconds remaining for a 24-21 LSU win.

"Will is a good coach because he's a great teacher. He's a really hard worker. He's got about as much passion and enthusiasm as anyone you'll ever be around," Saban said. "He relates well with players, and I think players feed off his passion and enthusiasm in terms of the way he coaches and what he does. He believes in fundamentals, discipline, hard work, commitment, the type of things that are fundamental to being successful. He's always done a great job."

Like Saban, Muschamp has a defensive background as an assistant coach and runs a defensive scheme similar to the 3-4 that Saban employs at UA. As such, UA offensive players expect a familiar look Saturday.
