Title: Target on McCarron and a few other notes.
Post by: navychief on September 26, 2011, 05:22:01 PM
As Saban states, Affecting the Quarterback is a key to our defense.  This doesnt mean sacks, necessarily, as we saw Saturday.  I personally dont care how we are percieved, as long as we are just playing untill the whistle blows and no cheap shots were taken.  I believe that our opponents will start doing the same thing.  I hope our offensive line during pass blocking will be able to protect AJ in the future, people will be trying to take his head off; expecially after the way we abused Tyler Wilson.

He missed a few deep completions, Just attempting them is enough to keep DB's on there feet.  This will continue to open up the intermediate passing routes.  I was impressed at the screen passes that he checked down to with Trent.

It appears that Trent is not hitting the holes as quick as he was the last couple of years, he appears to be waiting on blockers more instead of outrunning them.  He is definitely maturing every game.

I havent looked at the punting stats for last game, but I am gaining confidence in that aspect of the game.

I agree.
I love DJ but he seems to get beat a lot off the edge. Looks like he has heavy feet.

Size 23's are pretty heavy.  Im stationed with his cousin and he has the same size shoes.  I taught a class he was in and had to put caution feet on his tape so I didnt trip over them while i was teaching class.  They stuck a good 10 inches out the bottom of the table.

Bring on the opposition.

I agree, as long as we play cleanly I don't care how much the QBs, WRs, and RBs get smashed.  That rough play pays dividends through the season.
