In the most bizarre manor you've ever seen, Bama lost 89-84 playing with just 3 players at the end to Minnesota. The bench cleared, which caused the ejection of everyone but 3 Bama players. Trying to find the link now.

Sexton had 40 points. Petty has an ankle injury.  :(

The 5 players on the court did not get ejected, but 1 fouled out later and then Petty hurt his ankle.  We played for about 7 minutes with only 3 guys and still almost came back to win the game.

Amazing!

I watched a few videos at ESPN after SC brought this up in the In Game Thread.  Bama outscored Minn playing 3 on 5.

Yep, 24-16 was the last number I heard but there was still a minute or so to go.  I love the HEART our men showed.  We may not lose another game.

I just watched the replay on SC's Facebook link.

Highlights:

To view what caused the ejections start at the 1.29 minute mark. There had been a double technical on Sexton and one of their guys. Norris comes down and hits a 3 to make the score 57-50 with 13:34 remaining. The same guy who had the tecnical got into it with Ingram under the basket on the Norris made shot. IMO he threw a punch. He was ejected but the teams started to push and shove. It happened right in front of our bench. Our bench, led by Lawson Schaffer, game on to the floor. Nothing happened and I think the ref's over reacted. They had lost control of the game and ejected our players.

Sexton, Petty, Norris, Ingram and Smith were our 5 on the floor.

Ingram had 4 fouls. He fouled out on a questionable call with 11:37 to play and Bama down 9.

Petty fires up a 3 that he will miss and comes down on a Gopher's foot and turns his ankle. This is at the 10:41 mark down by 11. We are down to 3 players.

At the under 8 minute break (7:44 on the clock) CAJ has Sexton, Norris and Smith on the bench drawing up plays and still coaching.

We are playing a 1-2 triangle zone which allows Minn to shot over us but we would not let them penetrate.

At the 1:38 mark we pull to within 3 at 83-80. We get a stop and come down with a chance to pull within 1 or tie but miss the shot.

Minn was double and triple teaming Sexton and could not stop him. Norris played well. Smith was not the player we would have preferred to have in the game at this point but he played hard. I know he had one dunk on an assist by Sexton and he made two free throws. Sexton and Norris did the rest.

It is worth watching. Our guys never gave up.

Very inspiring.  I am so proud of how hard our guys played.  They all say Sexton will be one and done, but he is ours for now.  On his last 2 free throws he walks over and gives an imaginary high five to his two missing teammates that would have been there.

I don't think I've ever been this pumped for a basketball season. That's the stuff that legends are made of.

I got tickets to next Sunday's UCF game. Looking forward to it. I was going to the SEC Championship and stay in Atlanta and drive to the game Sunday morning. That plan is out. A college buddy and I are putting a plan in place to go to Livingston for the 3rd round Div II UWA playoff game instead.

Wow this is beautiful to know. 3 men on the floor and we still get close just to know the other 2 can play next game will be great. RTR!

We had 7 ejected, one foul out and one get hurt. Key and Davis who were not dressed out got to stay on the bench.

I wonder if the NCAA Selection committee will take into account that Bama almost came back to win this game by playing 3 against 5 for the last 10+ minutes of this game when time comes to choose which teams go to the tourney?  I definitely would...
