Title: "Conference power rankings — Week 4" NBC Sports

Our Conclusion:

1. SEC (last wk, No. 1) – Alabama and LSU play here, right? Wait… what’s that you say? They’re in the same division??? How on Earth is that fair to Texas A&M for when they come in? Oh, it’s not? And they don’t care? Well, okay then.

Also, Florida’s Jeff Demps and Chris Rainey will haunt you in your dreams.

2. Big 12 (last wk, No. 2) — With the college football spotlight shining bright on LSU and Alabama, Oklahoma has lost some of its preseason glitz. But, the Sooners have kept winning and haven’t done anything to make anyone believe they’re not one of the best teams in the country. Oklahoma State came from behind on the road to beat Texas A&M and establish themselves — for now — as a serious threat to OU. A&M-Arkansas will be our game to watch next week in Dallas.

3. Pac-12 (last wk, No. 4) — Stanford was resting for UCLA, who just beat Oregon State. Can it get any worse for the Beavers? On the flip side, Arizona State eliminated 11 years of misery against USC, which could be summed up with this fine piece of photojournalism.

T-4. ACC (last wk, No. 3) — Clemson’s on a roll after defeating No. 11 Florida  State at home (guess who saw that one coming?). A road test at Virginia Tech will show what the Tigers are made of. Meanwhile, can we get a good ol’ “what in the hell?” for Maryland getting pants’d at home against Temple by a score of 38-7. Temple.

T-4. Big East (last wk, No. 6) — LSU manhandled West Virginia, although the Mountaineers put up a fight; Pitt blew another lead to Notre Dame; Syracuse should vacate their “win” against Toledo; UConn beat Buffalo 17-3. Did we miss anything? Too late; don’t care.

T-4. Big Ten (last wk, No. 5) — It was a pretty easy weekend for the Big Ten, which by and large took care of business. Except for two teams, of course: Minnesota lost at home to North Dakota State; Indiana wrangled together 21 points in the fourth quarter and still lost to North Texas. #smh.

7. MAC (last wk, No. 11) — The fightin’ Steve Addazio‘s of Temple laid the wood on Maryland, helping the MAC rise up from the cellar of our conference power rankings like a beautiful dove. Unfortunately, there wasn’t a whole lot else to cheer about for the MAC, but Temple, man. Temple.

8. WAC (last wk, No. 9) — The WAC didn’t record many signature wins in Week 4, but Louisiana Tech, Nevada and Utah State lost Mississippi State, Texas Tech and Colorado State, respectively, by a combined eight points.

9. Conference USA (last wk, No 8 ) — C-USA had a pretty rough week, but Southern Miss managed to defeat Virginia on the road. Tough, right? Central Florida now has a pair of losses after falling to BYU, leaving me wondering if the Knights were a little overhyped to start the season....

Dreaming about 2 guys is enough to haunt any any normal man.

North Texas beat Indiana?  Gunner should reconsider.

The power is in the sEC because of coaching and TV flashes week in and week out. These young players like to be on TV. They like the colors of Teams or why else would some of the Top recruits go anywhere but Alabama?
We welcome TA&M but they are about to run into a buzz saw. We have Auburn for growing stuff and now we have the Military coming in.
The kind of power we have is 5 in a row coming up for 6. RTR!
