Title: Ex-Vols aide paid Lache Seastrunk flight

Quote
Former Tennessee assistant Willie Mack Garza paid for a top recruit and his mother to fly to Knoxville for an unofficial recruiting trip during Lane Kiffin's tenure at the school, Yahoo! Sports reported Monday night.

Garza followed Kiffin when he took over at Southern California, but the secondary coach resigned Sept. 1, citing "personal issues unrelated to USC."

Yahoo! Sports reported Garza wired $1,500 to talent scout Will Lyles in July 2009 and the money was used for plane tickets for running back prospect Lache Seastrunk and his mother, Evelyn.

Lyles told NCAA investigators about the transaction in August, according to the website. He said NCAA investigators were examining Tennessee's recruiting practices.

Lyles and Seastrunk's names come up more often than bad sushi. And of course it was under Kiffin's brief watch.

I think we did it about the same time. Just leave it. One of the mods will merge them.

Man it seems if Coach Dolley tries to make a step forward in cleaning up that program the past just comes up again. RTR!

Preacher, if this infraction follows the coach and not the institution, then UT should be ok, unless during the investigation, it's part of "lack of institutional control".

I'm thinking this guy didn't act alone (and use his personal $1500).

#+ hey 2stater I had to pad ya for that one. I had totally overlooked that. I guess because Coach Dooley is a student of CNS that things should go better for him. He seems to be improving the football team and I think he is a good honest man. I know Tenn. is not our most well liked enemy but I would think if he cleans up the program and runs it honest then he could be well respected like his Dad and CNS. RTR!

Capstone Report thinks the barn may have something to worry about Seastrunk too. He made an unofficial visit to the infamous "Big Cat Weekend". Who paid for that trip from Texas.

First and foremost he needs to be sanctioned just for being named Willie Mack.

I saw rumors of pay for play with this recruit by Auburn long before the whole Cam incident.

Thanks, Preacher. If he gets half a chance, I think CDD will get UT up & running again.
