NFL playoffs: State players help Jacksonville Jaguars reach AFC title game

Yeldon over Chris Ivory to serve as the backup to 1,000-yard rookie running back Leonard Fournette in Sunday's NFL playoff game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the former Daphne High School and Alabama standout made his coaches look smart.

Cam Robinson has had a really nice season (and a very good game today as well).  He's started 15 games at left tackle and only given up 2 sacks.  Pretty impressive for a rookie.

Fournette bought him a Rolex watch.

Real one, or $29 fake?

I had one of those fake Rolex, bought on the streets of NY for less than $29.  Surprisingly, the thing lasted for years, until the battery died and I didn't bother to replace it.

TJ Yeldon had a big game for the Jags, backing up Fournette who twisted his ankle attempting a spin move.

Here's a non-Alabama player who did not have a big game:  Marcus Williams for the Saints (he played at Utah.)  He had one job, with 4 seconds left the Vikings complete a downfield pass, and all Williams had to do was tackle him in bounds and the Saints win.  Instead, Williams wiffs on the tackle (no attempt to wrap up), takes out another Saints defender, and allows the Vikings to run into the end zone for the game winning TD as the clock expires.

Still, those who bet on the Saints @ 5.5 points made money -- after 8 minutes to review the play and clear the field, the Vikings took a knee on the PAT play to win by 5.  I don't think the Saints fielded 11 players to defend the play, and they were random players like the punter out there on defense.

My son-in-law is a die hard Saints fan. His soul was crushed yesterday.

My brother has been a die hard Vikings fan since the 60s.  I had an electric football field and he always played with the Vikings.  (I took the Cowboys, but Jerry Jones ruined that for me -- with JJ in charge, the Cowboys are dead to me.)

While not a huge NFL fan, I do root for the Southern teams, Saints, Falcons and Titans (in that order), and I've been to these stadiums to watch games.  Now I'll have to listen to him gloat -- provided he didn't put any money on the game.   :lol2:
