Title: Basketball vs. Oklahoma - 1:15 on ESPN
Post by: Hannibal Lecter, MD on January 27, 2018, 12:52:58 PM
Trae Young and the Sooners come to town in the SEC-Big 12 Challenge. Oklahoma (14-4) has wins over three teams ranked in the top 10 this year (when the game was played), and just beat Kansas in the last week. Somehow they're only a 1-point favorite. Oklahoma is only 2-3 on the road, but the way our games have been officiated lately, we have gotten no home court advantage. I almost hope they bring a Big 12 crew.

The students are fired up!  Great for the basketball team to be getting love, and also a great atmosphere for a big recruiting weekend.

I do not know. I do not recognize them so I'm guessing Big 12

We've lost focus.  Oklahoma is back to within two.

Well I had to put it on mute.  This just in:  I don't give 1 crap about how great Trey Young is and what he is going to do in the NBA.  >:(

We got sloppy in that last 4 minute segment and gave up our lead. We need to finish this half strong.

Herb Jones may end up being the best basketball player on Bama's team right now.

Bama up 41-35 at half.  If we can maintain the energy the rest of the way, I like our chances.

Goo first half. I like the way we played. Good crowd. I like our changes too.

Bama leads 51-50. We are giving up too many easy baskets on the defensive end.

Herb Jones has some bud luck with officiating.

Bama up by 5 with 5:20 left!

Big couple threes from Braxton Key.  Good to see him shooting with a little confidence.

4 minutes to go. Stay aggressive and hit free throws and we can win this game.

Their white boy has been cold.

If we'd made our FTs early, this would be over.

Got home from golf just in time to see the last 12 seconds. What a quality win for the team. I'm guessing they played as a team today and didn't stand around waiting for Sexton to make a play. Outstanding!

I hope he's 100% now. It's time to kick some butt in the SEC. Need some wins on the road to go along with the home wins.

Very good team win.  Great defensive efforts as well as big baskets by different players.  Say what you want about Young, but he can dish the ball.

Why should they?  Only the shooter is responsible for his missed shot!!

Why should they?  Really?  That is a track able statistic.  Plus, it gives the team second and third chances to score...   :eyeroll: :eyeroll: :eyeroll:

I would say YES. We are averaging 10+ per game. We win the rebounding stat (or at least keep it close) in most games which is a big improvement over past years. You are never going to rebound on the offensive end at the same percentage you do on the defensive end.
