Title: Arky v. TA&M Post by: Catch Prothro on September 29, 2011, 10:55:29 AM What are ya'lls thoughts on this game? I noticed that in the Pickem contest, we have 17 picks for Arky and only 5 for TAM. Ricky picked TAM but so did BamaBred, so that is a wash.
I picked Arky, because I'd like for them to give a big Welcome To The SEC to TAM. However, teams that have faced Bama in the past few years have not done so well in their subsequent games. PSU struggled in their subsequent game this year. That is probably because the teams were beaten up from the Bama game. And Bama pounded Wilson last Saturday. So, does Arky get it together and beat TAM, or are they still in recovery mode and lack the physicality to get it done on Saturday? Title: Re: Arky v. TA&M Post by: KoKoPuf on September 29, 2011, 10:59:03 AM I'm leaning to TAM. Both teams lost big games last week and could come out flat. Arky got beat up pretty bad against the Tide and we will probably see the effects of that this weekend.

I would love for Arkansas to beat them badly, but I have no idea who I am going to pick yet. Technically Arkansas is the home team, but if I am not mistaken this is actually a neutral site game. Someone please correct me if I am wrong about that.

Beyond what is written by others above, I'd add: 1. Texas A&M has a pretty good D; it's probably enough to limit Arky to 20 points; 2. Arky indeed is beaten up. Their QB may not be up to more hits; he'll get 'em. 3. A&M's offense is underachieving so far; they may not score over 20 either. 4. I haven't seen the stats recently for team records the week after they play Alabama, but they were dismal for years; probably still are. That is the deciding factor for me. I expect Arky to cover (close game, though), but maybe lose. Title: Re: Arky v. TA&M Post by: BAMADCHAMPSHIPS on September 29, 2011, 12:22:36 PM I think Petrino will try and come out throwing down field. This is something they really didn't do against us. They got the receivers to do so. If their OL can stay healthy and block somebody I think it'll be an easy day for the HOGs 28-17.
