Title: Alabama vs. Ole Miss (Softball
Post by: N.AL-Tider on March 24, 2018, 09:10:04 PM
After run-ruling OM on Friday the ladies from OM came back to beat the Bama ladies 10-3 today.  Bama gave up 5 runs in the 1st and could never catch up apparently... >:(

The team isn't the same with Osorio on the bench under the concussion protocol, that's for sure.  Murphy left Preston in there the whole game to take the beating.

I watched some of the game. There was an odd play in the first inning. OM had runners on 2nd and 3rd. A ground ball was hit to D Turner at 2nd base. She threw home to get the lead runner. The batter tried to take second on the throw. She was called out on the throw from Dikes the catcher. That was the third out with OM only scoring 2 runs. The OM coach complained Booker had bobbled the ball. The umps huddled and talked and reversed the call. That put another run scoring and a runner on 2nd. Replay showed the ball was bobbled but it took forever for them to make the call. It was a 20 minute delay in the game. When play resumed the next batter hit a 2 run HR to make it 5-0. The team looked shook up and never recovered from that.

We miss Osorio bad. We only have three pitchers on the roster. We cannot afford to lose any of them especially the ace of the staff.

And I still haven't seen a timetable as to when Osorio may return. I hope we can get some development out of our other pitchers.

Line drive from an Aub batter.

It hit her right up under her visor on her forehead. 1st inning of game 1 in the Auburn series.

Even though it was apparently a fluke accident, I agree... One can never have too many reasons to hate the booger eaters...

Thanks Leewillie.  I have been wondering if we won the series or not and just didn't take the time to look it up.

Hope to see you at the A-Day game this year...
