Title: Braves Baseball 2018
Post by: Marshal Dillon on September 22, 2018, 09:33:21 AM
I know there is an all-sports thread on the board but I want to talk specifically about the Atlanta Braves. They are leading the Eastern Division of the NL. They have been a huge surprise all year, with timely hitting, solid pitching especially from the starters and decent Bullpen relief, most of the time. Their team stats are awesome:

NL Team Stats-Atlanta

1st  Batting Average
2nd Runs Scored
1st  Doubles (a sign of power & speed)
7th  Home Runs
2nd RBI

6th  ERA
8th  Saves
15th Walks Allowed (MOST ALLOWED!)
5th  Runs Allowed (5th lowest)

These stats give a good all around indication of the Braves performance this year. Without a complete collapse, they will win their division. In the National League, both the Cubs & Dodgers have returned from the baseball graveyard after slow starts and may make the playoffs, too. Overall though, the NL looks totally overmatched by AL teams like the Red Sox, Yanks, & Astros. Interesting playoffs are coming to MLB.

Hey MD thanks for thew stats. I have actually wondered why we haven't heard the normal outcry about the manager? I also was guilty of this last couple of years. RTR!

They have been exciting to watch most of the time but frustrating at other times.  I have wanted to go over to Atlanta to watch them in person all season but just wasn't able to.

Me, too. The bullpen has blown some save opportunities. I wanted to go to the new stadium but screwed up and never made a game.

I took my youngest boy to a game last year.  I got him a batting practice HR ball. Braves won and he was happy.  Just didn't get to go this year... Hopefully next year I can...

Hey maybe you can. I use to go but I have cut down on costs and it is kind of rough. RTR!
