Title: Note From Marshal Dillon Post by: Marshal Dillon on September 25, 2018, 10:05:13 PM Hey guys. Appreciate the kind words from several of the posters. I don't mean to be posting so much late at night, but I just haven't had the time to post sooner in the day. Up to my ears in getting some things done, then I'm so beat down I don't feel like posting. I should be able to post more on Saturday since I take a break then from all these other things to watch college/NFL games.

I know it is football season but basketball practice started yesterday. What are your thoughts on this years team? (This question is everyone, not just to MD.) Title: Re: Note From Marshal Dillon Post by: Hannibal Lecter, MD on September 26, 2018, 07:32:07 AM

You're not going to wake anyone up. ;) Title: Re: Note From Marshal Dillon Post by: McBaman on September 26, 2018, 08:35:03 AM MD... it is great to have you back and posting among us. I know it is football season but basketball practice started yesterday. What are your thoughts on this years team? (This question is everyone, not just to MD.) I think this is a huge year for Coach Johnson, career-wise. Personally, I think we should be able to go 21-9, 22-8, at least, during the regular season. We have 2 decent non-conference games, Arizona & Baylor. The roster includes some real talent returning like, John Petty, Herbert Jones, Riley Norris, Donta Hall, Dazon Ingram, along with players Johnson Jr., Alex Reese, & Daniel Giddens. Excited about freshman guard Kira Lewis, 5 star prospect courted by Kansas & Indiana. :popcorn2: Title: Re: Note From Marshal Dillon Post by: pmull on September 26, 2018, 11:16:28 PM Glad to have you back MD. He averaged 14.8 ppg his soph year and lead Texas in scoring. He is 6-6 225. We should have more balanced scoring this year. Everyone on the team is capable of scoring double digits on any given night. The SEC is getting better but I think we will be one of the better teams in our league and easily make the NCAA Tournament. He's a combo guard/small forward. We have several players like that, Riley Norris, Dazon Ingram, Herbert Jones, & John Petty. Don't know how all these guys will get enough playing time unless someone comes on strong during the season. I am assuming Dazon Ingram will play the point unless true freshman Kira Lewis earns that job. :dog: Title: Re: Note From Marshal Dillon Post by: Marshal Dillon on September 27, 2018, 10:01:04 PM Good to see you back, buddy. Just life and kids (especially a 2-year-old) get in the way. :lol2: Title: Re: Note From Marshal Dillon Post by: ricky023 on September 28, 2018, 09:19:14 AM Hey MD I think we have a little depth this year that will help against the good teams. I hope the seat belt rule takes affect. I would love to see us go deep into the Big Dance and draw recruits interest. RTR!

This is a crucial year for Coach Johnson tp prove he can get the job done. :popcorn2: |
