Quote Southeastern Conference rivals LSU and Alabama held the top two spots in The Associated Press college football poll after the Crimson Tide jumped past No. 3 Oklahoma and into second. Alabama's rise gives the SEC the top two teams in the country for the 10th time in the last four seasons. The Tide beat Florida 38-10 on Saturday night in Gainesville, then received 12 first-place votes in the media rankings released Sunday. LSU remained No. 1 for a second straight week, receiving 40 first-place votes and 1,473 points. Alabama had 1,435. Oklahoma, which started the season No. 1 before slipping last week, got seven first-place votes. 1 LSU (40) 5-0 1473 1 2 Alabama (12) 5-0 1435 3 3 Oklahoma (7) 4-0 1397 2 4 Wisconsin 5-0 1266 7 5 Boise State (1) 4-0 1248 4 6 Oklahoma State 4-0 1191 5 7 Stanford 4-0 1185 6 8 Clemson 5-0 1093 13 9 Oregon 3-1 1028 9 10 Arkansas 4-1 860 18 11 Texas 4-0 833 17 12 Michigan 5-0 812 19 13 Georgia Tech 5-0 667 21 14 Nebraska 4-1 555 8 15 Auburn 4-1 550 NR 16 West Virginia 4-1 544 22 17 Florida 4-1 498 12 18 South Carolina 4-1 487 10 19 Illinois 5-0 428 24 20 Kansas State 4-0 349 NR 21 Virginia Tech 4-1 341 11 22 Arizona State 4-1 256 25 23 Florida State 2-2 237 23 24 Texas A&M 2-2 216 14 25 Baylor Title: Re: SEC holds top two spots in AP poll Post by: BAMAWV on October 02, 2011, 12:19:58 PM http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/7050195/lsu-tigers-top-associated-press-poll-alabama-crimson-tide-move-no-2 According to Robert Smith. ??? :eyeroll:Quote Southeastern Conference rivals LSU and Alabama held the top two spots in The Associated Press college football poll after the Crimson Tide jumped past No. 3 Oklahoma and into second. I knew this would happen and predicted it last night. On paper they only lost to Clemson and Clemson looks really good right now. But anybody that has actually watched their games (including THEIR own announcers) knows that they are a horrible team. The day of reckoning for them is coming though. This only keeps hope alive in the delusional fans, so that the fall will be that much harder when (not if) it happens. They have 4 wins and I think they can beat Ole Miss and Samford. I think they lose to Arky, Florida, LSU, UGA and Bama. Two years ago they paid the Outback Bowl to take them when they should have gone to Shreveport or Nashville. I hate those boogers. Title: Re: SEC holds top two spots in AP poll Post by: SUPERCOACH on October 02, 2011, 03:33:34 PM They might beat Florida if they don't get their QB back in time. Can we loan Florida one of ours just for that one game?

Can we loan Florida one of ours just for that one game? I don't think Florida is as bad as we made them look last night. Florida's freshman QB is much better than Garcia. Garcia's tombstone will say "he sucked as a QB except the 2010 Bama game". Title: Re: SEC holds top two spots in AP poll Post by: Old Tider on October 02, 2011, 06:11:49 PM I'm looking forward to a real blowout against the boogers when we visit the Loneliest Village. One for the records.
