The 40th Annual Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta lifted off yesterday in Albuquerque, New Mexico as hundreds of balloons sailed into the crisp autumn air.

The festival attracted balloon enthusiasts from all over the world to the 365-acre Balloon Fiesta Park.

Festival organizers said the Balloon Fiesta had grown to be the largest international event of its kind.

The Balloon Fiesta will last for 9 days.

Those are kinda cool, if you have never been. I bungee jumped out of one (tethered). The woman had me go first to make sure it would hold.

It's on my bucket list to fly in one, but no jumping.

Decatur has Hot Air Balloon festivals twice a year. They are every Memorial Day and 4th of July. They are beautiful to watch. They normally have about 75 balloons. Several people (businesses) that live here own ballooons and see you them all during the year. They fly mostly in the early morning when the winds are calm.
