Title: Sark Coming Back as OC? Post by: McBaman on January 12, 2019, 09:10:43 PM Yea...you read that right. Here's the ESPN story.
http://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/25746669/steve-sarkisian-return-alabama-crimson-tide At least it sounds like he WANTS to be at Bama. Confusing to me but what do I know? Title: Re: Sark Coming Back as OC? Post by: Marshal Dillon on January 12, 2019, 10:36:39 PM Here's a link about several coaches and Bama. Read link, good info.
Quote Sarkisian wasn’t the only big name coach in town today. Notre Dame offensive coordinator Chip Long was also in Tuscaloosa today, according to sources. It looks like he could join the staff in some capacity even if/when Sarkisian is hired as offensive coordinator. A Birmingham native, Long has been the offensive coordinator at Notre Dame the last two years after one season as the OC at Memphis. https://www.al.com/alabamafootball/2019/01/inside-alabama-intel-on-steve-sarkisian-chip-long-and-butch-jones.html (https://www.al.com/alabamafootball/2019/01/inside-alabama-intel-on-steve-sarkisian-chip-long-and-butch-jones.html) :dog: Title: Re: Sark Coming Back as OC? Maybe both. I wonder if Sark would come back as something like "co-OC and QB coach." The guy from Memphis-ND sounds like an interesting possibility. Title: Re: Sark Coming Back as OC? Never thought I would EVER say this, but I'd rather have the ND guy. Title: Re: Sark Coming Back as OC? Post by: McBaman on January 13, 2019, 11:36:35 AM Latest report: Long staying at ND.

He has a scoring offense when allowed to run it. RTR! Title: Re: Sark Coming Back as OC? Post by: 2Stater on January 13, 2019, 01:08:41 PM Sark has had success running offenses on the college level, but was a dumpster fire in Atlanta this year. A total red zone disaster. He gets fired and immediately comes here. That worries me. I know we have a ton of talent on offense and many will think there is no way he can screw that up. But Atlanta probably had the most talent on offense than most any other team in the NFL. Sark failed miserably.
But Saban has made a habit of bringing coaches in and making them look good. Let's hope that happens again this time. Title: Re: Sark Coming Back as OC? Post by: N.AL-Tider on January 13, 2019, 06:03:52 PM Regardless of who gets hired as a coach for Bama I would like to see the school add a clause in their contracts that prevents them from interviewing or even talking to other schools regarding job changes until after the very last game of the season is over. That would, IMO, definitely remove any distractions that they have going into big games and it would also help the players focus too...

That would be a tough 'get' in a contract negotiation, but money can be persuasive. Even if you got this language in, it would stop conversation with the ass't coach, but wouldn't stop the rumors which would still affect the players. Title: Re: Sark Coming Back as OC? Post by: ricky023 on January 13, 2019, 10:40:05 PM I think the coaches got run off because they didn't do the job for the NCG. So Sark or whoever better be ready packed if they don't follow the "PROCESS." RTR!
