Title: Georgia to Win the Eastern Division This Year?
Post by: Marshal Dillon on October 03, 2011, 02:45:03 PM
Florida has QB problems, USC looks flaky, Auburn is bad, Tennessee is rebuilding, so who can stop Georgia from winning the division? If Georgia can go 6-1 the rest of the way they might be in Atlanta to meet us for the SEC title.

USC has beaten Georgia already and owns the tie break.

I don't understand why they need to go 6-1 the rest of the way. They only have 5 SEC games remaining. They need to win those 5 and hope USCe loses one more.

I think UF could still beat all those teams, but they will prolly lose to LSU so I don't know how that affect things.

Right, Georgia has 2 lossses, but I'm assuming USC will lose at least 2 more SEC games.   ;)

Georgia is 2-1 in SEC play. If they win the next 5 SEC games and USCe loses another SEC game they win the SEC East.

Read my post, I never said they NEED to go 6-1, I said if they can go 6-1. I'm talking about their entire remaining schedule. If they go 6-1 (either with a loss in the SEC or to Georgia Tech) they probably make it to Atlanta. I said USC is flaky, meaning they are looking at 8-4/9-3 if they are not careful. If Brantley can return and make a real contribution, they have a chance to beat Georgia, for sure. It is early, but what's wrong with having fun while we speculate about potential scenarios?

I still think SC has edge, but Georgia and Florida are not out of it.  Florida still has talent without Brantley and they should be able to run the ball against anyone but us.

Florida has to play LSU next weekend. No way they can beat them. That gives Florida two SEC losses. Everything could hinge on the Florida/Georgia game for both teams.

Florida-LSU could be interesting.  It could be a blowout, but LSU is due for one of their inexplicably bad performances and Florida has something to prove after getting embarrassed on their home turf.

Yeah, LSU always finds a way to lose a ame they should win. Strange.

I was going with UF until the injury. I think we just might of saved Richt's job. A little luck we keep Kirby here one more year.
