TUSCALOOSA | Former University of Alabama football player Reggie Myles has filed a complaint with the University of Florida Police Department alleging that he was attacked by Florida defensive lineman Dominique Easley outside Ben Hill Griffin Stadium shortly after the Crimson Tide's 38-10 win over Florida on Saturday night.

UFPD Sgt. Steve Wilder confirmed that an investigation is ongoing regarding Myles' complaint, but that UFPD has not yet confirmed that Easley was Myles' attacker.

"I'm trying to identify a suspect, who it was that actually hit him and injured him. I'll go from there," Wilder said.

Myles said he learned who his attacker was from Easley's parents, who were at the scene. According to Myles, he was tackled from behind and the attack was unprovoked.

A cell phone, dropped by Myles' assailant before he fled the scene, also may help police make an identification. Myles took possession of the phone and subsequently provided it to police at the scene.

"His parents were asking me for the phone back," Myles said.

Easley is a thug.  The LSU game looks more lopsided by the hour.

Do you think Muschamp is starting to wonder what the heck he has gotten in to at Florida.

Muschamp is having to clean up the attitude mess the Urbane one left behind.  My guess is he won't tolerate this kind of behaviour on or off the field.

Myles was carrying a soft alumimum container of chicken wings at the time, which were splattered on the ground as he informed police of what had happened.

Now Easley has lawyered up.

I wonder how much it cost the school for this guy.

"Easley is being represented by Huntley Johnson, a Gainesville lawyer with extensive experience representing UF athletes".

On Tuesday afternoon, when Johnson was asked why Easley had hired an attorney, he said, "probably because he read the (U.S.) Constitution. It's his right."

UPD Maj. Brad Barber said the incident involving Myles happened at 12:05 a.m. on the Gate 2 walkway at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. Myles told police the unprovoked tackle came from behind him, leaving him with pain in his hip and a bloody elbow.

Myles turned over a cell phone to police that he said his attacker dropped at the scene. He also asked police to give him copies of any security tapes that might have captured the incident.

Johnson said he did not know where the cell phone was Tuesday.

Barber said he was not aware of any available surveillance videos. The case remained under investigation, he said, so few details would be released, such as the role the dropped cell phone might play in the case.

"We attempted to interview Easley this afternoon, but his attorney, Huntley Johnson, declined the interview," Barber said. "We will continue the investigation with the information we have at this time."

If Easley's case goes sour, I wouldn't want to be his lawyer.  Just sayin'.

Maybe they should get Jordan Jefferson's lawyer.  Tackling a guy from behind is not as bad as stomping a guy in the head when he is laying on the ground defenseless.

I imagine his entire practice is based on this.

I am a pretty lad back guy. But two things of mine you'd better not mess with:

1. My Family.

2. My Chicken Wings.

So, someone steals your kid's chicken wings, that's okay?  Or is that under the umbrella of "family"?

Family-size chicken wing.  From an emu (or pterodactyl).

Has anyone heard anything else on this matter? Has he been suspended for the next game?

Last thing I saw was that Easley lawyered up.  It said the lawyer didn't want him to talk with the police.  Sounds like it's bogged down.

gator people are saying Myles was giving Easleys parents lip after the game and thats why he got tackled from behind

and this guy says he will go to court ... or a so called witness  :dunno:

Quote
Didn't read all 3 pages so not sure if this has been mentioned, but this clown Myles was at the Swamp(bar) all afternoon getting lit up and yelling roll tide about every 5 minutes. Based on what I saw, he wasn't even going to the game, just "enjoying" the gameday festivities. But when I left, he was already pretty drunk and if he stayed throughout the game, I can only imagine he was hammered by the ned of it. What business, other than starting trouble, does someone have for being where he was, especially after heavy drinking?

And, before someone asks, the reason I'm pretty sure it was him doing shots at the Swamp, a) I was right next to him for about 30 minutes and recognized him, and b) he was wearing his own jersey(not smart when you plan to start trouble).

And given that he's an adult, the fact that he felt it was a good idea to hang out around the UF players ramp to mock them, says alot about this jack***. Easley may have been wrong in his actions, but this guy was the problem and seemed to seek out an issue. He got what he had coming.

I know this is them just talking and they are telling a completely different story , which is what I expected anyway

they did arrest him didn't they ? http://www.gatorsports.com/article/20111003/ARTICLES/111009860?p=1&tc=pg

In the wake of the incident, Myles was detained and charged by police himself, although Wilder said those charges were separate from the investigation into the attack, and stemmed from Myles being upset about what had happened. Those charges include public intoxication and criminal mischief, according to Myles.
