It is good news but it also sounds like his combine time won;t work out so does he try and come back next fall or try to go on to a franchise to cause him bigger hits. RTR!

Preacher, I know we are all Bama, all the time, but in this case, I don't think anybody really cares if he comes back for his senior year. We all care about his health and his long term prognosis. Tua is done at Bama and has been an extraordinary ambassador. I think we are all praying that he makes it to the next level.

This was the key statement to me and something all the “experts” in the media did not comprehend. Bo’s injury happened nearly 30 years ago and orthopedics has advanced incredibly. Plus, MRI machines had just started being used.

The good news is sports medicine has advanced in the 28 years since Jackson's injury and this typically doesn't require surgery.

That isn’t the case with Tagovailoa, however. The school announced Sunday evening that Tagovailoa would be flown to Houston for surgery on Monday.

I truly believe he will fully recover. Dr. Lyle Cain is the main man and considered to be the heir apparent for Dr. Andrews at the Andrews Clinic and if he says he can expect a full recovery, then that’s good enough for me.

The key to me is that, under Saban, Alabama is providing the best medical care available, the best doctors.  I think that is more important than anything else.

I know this is a harped on question but how can you stop some of these injuries OR is there anyway to do it? RTR!

EXACTLY. No more semi-competent surgeon trying to operate and repair a complicated injury, like the way Prothro was treated in Tuscaloosa. Great point.

News this morning is that Tua was flown to Houston last night and had surgery this morning.  According to a statement from Dr. Cain this morning surgery was successful and Tua will soon be back in Tuscaloosa to begin rehab.  "full recovery is expected".  Prayers.

Saban points out C.J. Mosley suffered the same hip injury as Tua Tagovailoa in the 2011 title game and has had a great NFL career.
