Title: Arkansas Post by: N.AL-Tider on December 01, 2020, 12:02:05 PM What happened to the Arkansas game? I had heard it would be played on December 12 between the LSU and SECC games. Now I'm not seeing where we will play them at all. Anyone know why? I actually wish we were playing them after the LSU game. That would have put us playing the same week as UF/LSU just one week before the SECCG. Seems fair. Now if we are off while UF has to play... Seems to give us an added advantage.
Title: Re: Arkansas Post by: Marshal Dillon on December 01, 2020, 03:50:23 PM As far as I know, they will play on December 12, have heard nothing different.

ESPN does not have it on their Dec 12 schedule of games. SEC has to say something in the next 2 - 3 days I would think. Title: Re: Arkansas Post by: Hannibal Lecter, MD on December 01, 2020, 05:13:12 PM I think the SEC is still trying to decide if they want to play the games that "don't matter"...Bama and Florida are locked for the SECCG now, I think. They're holding out, probably expecting COVID spikes after Thanksgiving.
Title: Re: Arkansas Post by: Marshal Dillon on December 01, 2020, 09:35:03 PM Saban may not want to play Arkansas, then the very next week play Florida in SECG on December 19.

Arkansas would definitely be a tougher opponent for US than LSU will be for UF so if we can avoid getting beat up a week before the SECCG then I'm ok with that. Course, I also think it is meaningless for UF and LSU to play...Title: Re: Arkansas Post by: pmull on December 02, 2020, 09:10:02 AM I think the SEC is still trying to decide if they want to play the games that "don't matter"...Bama and Florida are locked for the SECCG now, I think. We would have to lose both games not to make the SECCG since we hold the head-to-head tie breaker over A&M. It is technically not a lock but I bet A&M does not like their chances. If (when) we beat the coonasses, do you think the Arkansas game will be cancelled? The 2 week layoff before didn't hurt at all. RTR! I think it is best for Bama and the conference to let Bama and UF out of the Dec 12 games before the SEC Championship. I would say that regardless of the teams involved.

I do not think they make UF play a meaning less game on 12/12 and let us be off. I think the SEC office will either make both Bama and UF play on 12/12 or both be off. I do not think they will (or should) give one team an off week advantage over the other. Title: Re: Arkansas Post by: McBaman on December 04, 2020, 04:30:38 PM The SEC has spoken. Bama-Arky resked to Dec 12th.
