If Sark asks the right questions, by the end of the interview he will know he is not interested.

I'm with Ricky: can't believe he's even interviewing. 

Not sure a lot of people turn down an interview for a top 3-4 job in the SEC.

I see a raise in his future at Bama.

^^^ This^^^ Especially a coordinator. Unless he has a specific job or area (West Coast maybe) he would be foolish to turn down an interview.

Saban encourages his coaches to interview for jobs - sharpens their interview skills. Personally, I don't see him accepting the job. I don't see him as a good fit for the Barn culture.

Per Aub writer Phillip Marshall the barn search committee has set up 5 interviews. In addition to Sark they are interviewing:

Aub DC Kevin Steele

ULL head coach Billy Napier

Both Clemson coordinators DC Venables and OC Elliott

Sark has the mindset of a head coach.  He was one and likely wants to be again since he agreed to interview for this one.  IMO, I think Auburn would likely throw a bank at Sark to lure him to come and be their next coach for two reasons, 1. they want to remain one of the best teams in the SEC/country. and 2. they want to do anything they can to hurt Bama's chances at continuing to have successful seasons, especially against them.

My main concern here is another year of upsetting our coaching for a National Championship. RTR!

I think the Aub power brokers want to keep Steele at some capacity. Either HC or DC. A new HC that allows the money men to control his staff is walking into a bad situation. Alabama had to learn this. Schools like Texas and Auburn have not learned it yet. As Carl mentioned in an earlier post it will take the right hire to work with the Auburn culture.

When Steve Spurrier was head coach at Florida, he listened to offers for other jobs all the time. When asked why, Spurrier said he’s always ready to listen to hear what others had to offer.

Yep. It was Pat Dye and other insiders who got Gene Chizik to Auburn. Cam Newton saved their butt in 2010, but he lasted only 4 years at Auburn.

I'm not sure if Bama has already guaranteed a $$$ amt or if he just wasn't that interested.   I heard he did not go through with an interview.

It occurred to me after listening to CNS talk about how you 'win' now by outscoring other teams, that the OC position is more important/valuable than ever.  So when you've got a good one like Sark, better do whatever it takes to hold on to him.

D still matter though.  We saw that on Sat night.
