Tennessee is 6-0 and ranked #6 in nation. This is a huge chance for Bama to make Tide BB relevant. We must have consistent play, good D, and shoot 35% or better from 3 pointers.

This is gonna be a tough game for the TIDE cause the Vols are a great team this time. RTR!

Between teleworking, football all week, and the holidays, my sense of the calendar has been all messed up.  When I first saw this thread, I thought I'd completely forgotten about and missed the game yesterday (as if today were Sunday)

Yesterday I kept telling myself it was Friday, nor Saturday so I wouldn’t be expecting NFL games.

Bama looks like to be playing with effort at least.

Sometimes SEC regular season basketball is hard to watch.   The refs sure love their whistles.

Good hustle by Bama, has missed a couple of lay-ups. 16-14 UT.

At this rate of scoring we will have 25 points at the half.

Neither team is being lazy, per se, but neither team is playing all that well.  Poor shooting on both sides.   Bama has been able to drive the ball a little.   I fear that TN will be much better in the 2nd half and we've missed our chance.   Our shots aren't falling, and we've had many more open shots than TN.

5 Tide players have scored. Three of them have scored 5 points each. Tide 10/26 FG for 38.5%.

Herb has not been able to get involved and be effective.   Anyone know if he's nursing an injury?

After I said that, the refs have completely swallowed their whistles.   I have a feeling they'll make up for it in the 2nd half.

Good 1st half. We need to shoot better but our defense is keeping us in the game.

Tide has really been fighting and haning in there against Tennessee. Remember, UT is #7 in country. Tide is 12/31 FG 38.7%. Tide holds UT to 11/34 FG 32.4%. Tide 5/5 FT, UT 5/9.

I've seen Alabama basketball in these types of positions several times in the last few years, and we seem to lose about 90% of them.   Hopefully the team has grown and we can show some mettle in the last 8 minutes.

Tide needs to drive right at Pons on UT and make him foul them. He’s blocking too many of our shots. 63-54 Tide.

Regular season college basketball has been the most lopsided home officiating for years.

Back when Wimp and Sonny had their morning show on JOX, the one thing they always agreed on was "you're down by 15 going into Rupp Arena."

Not sure how long it's been since we've beaten a #7 team on the road, but I'd imagine it's been a month of Sundays.

Hell of a job by Bama.  Got to start hitting those free throws.

BINGO!! I said the same thing to my wife. This was a big test for Bama and they passed it. We may have a real PG in Quinerly. Tennessee and Rick Barnes are the real deal which makes this win so good.

It wasn't a particularly pretty game, but what a big win!  Conference road wins are always so hard to come by, but over a top 10 team.  Wow!  Roll Tide!

Thought CNO has fixed our FT problem last year.  Guess not.

Anyway, an SEC road win is always a biggie.  

We have started 2-0 in conference play which is great.

That's one of the things that's more on the individual.  You can't waste practice time making everyone shoot 200 FTs in practice.  I don't know what the NCAA limit is on practice/film/workout time a week in basketball (it's 20 hrs for football and I'd imagine it's less for BBall).  Something like FTs has to be individual pride and dedication.

FTs are also probably the shot that's the most "mental" since you have what seems like forever to think about it.

Good:

Held high powered UT to 63 points, they avg 79.
We rebounded well. UT has been killing opponents on the boards.
We had 11 assists.
Josh Primo is going to be a stud.

Bad:

Alex Reese could not buy a bucket and did not score.
We only forced 9 UT turnovers

Ugly:

Free throws shooting must improve. Only Quinerly (2-2) shot over 50% at the line.

Our stats make the score more interesting. If we had bad somewhere we had to have great to beat the #7 team in the nation and was undefeated. RTR!
