Title: "Jordan Jefferson looking to regain his starting job"

“My personal goal is to be the starter,” said Jefferson after practice Monday. “I am going to do whatever it takes to get there.”

Stomping Jarrett Lee's head would do it.

I think LSU might have been better off if Jefferson hadn't been let back on the team.  He doesn't strike me as the type to sit back contentedly if he doesn't walk back into the starting job.

All he should have said is, "I am happy to be back on the team and hope to contribute however I can."  Taking aim at a teammate's job in the national press is bound to impact team chemistry.  For now, Les Miles is sticking with Lee, which (in my opinion) makes LSU a better team because they have a QB making few mistakes who can throw the ball.  JJ is a better runner, but his passing has never been all that impressive.  (The lone exception, TA&M last year, clearly has a porous pass defense.)   Still, Les is keeping JJ in his pocket if needed (i.e. against Bama) and as a "situational" QB.

I think LSU was better off without Jefferson. That is unless Lee gets hurt.
