8:02 am Eastern Time - One time West Virginia running back commitment Justin Williams, who is from Georgia and admitted he wanted to play in the SEC, picks Tennessee over Auburn.

8:12 am - SI99 tight end Jake Johnson, a recent LSU decommitment, just announced for Texas A&M. Now tied with Alabama at nine SI99 recruits on board at this moment, the versatile tight end is the son of former NFL quarterback Brad Johnson.

4-Star OT Elijah Pritchett signs with Alabama.  Pritchett is listed at 6-foot-7 and weighs 295 pounds.  He's signed and in.   #+

8:39 am - Cam East, a former Mississippi State commitment who said he was likely to sign in February, just signed with Ole Miss. The Louisiana native is a long and lean athlete who the Rebels have been working to flip for some time.

8:42 am - A Texas flip just came in and it may not be the last of the day for Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns. Xavion Brice just announced a commitment to UT after being committed to Oklahoma since July.

I guess it depends on the service you're looking at, but we had three 5* commitments in the 247 Composite rankings, and two of them have sent in their papers.

10:08 a.m. Alabama announced its 15th letter of intent in Louisiana wide receiver Aaron Anderson, who de-committed from LSU in October after Ed Orgeron’s firing before pledging to the Tide.

10:17 a.m.: Williamson linebacker Robert Woodyard, one of Alabama’s first 2022 commits, has chosen Auburn instead. More from Ben Thomas on the flip, which reduces Alabama’s total 2022 commitments or signings to 20, including 15 that have already signed.

Simpson will be joining practice this week for the Crimson Tide.

With him, Bryce and Milroe next year, we should be in good shape if they don't hit the portal.

The ranking game for this class isn't over yet, Preacher.  Think I read there are another two guys that won't sign until Friday.  Maybe they want their moment in the sun.

Meanwhile, we signed two Isaiahs and two Elijahs,  so this class may be 'prophetic' of blessings to come!

Whew!  This is a big deal but it will probably get lost in the press coverage of who had the best signing class.  Eli was a 5-star prospect and 3rd team all-american this year.  Major addition to our DBs. 

Way to go coaches!!

I just finished reading an article about Ricks on ESPN, and was very impressed. This is a better recruit for us than any young 5 star!  Regardless of the rankings, this fulfills our needs in the secondary, and may be as big as the Jameson Williams transfer last year. Woot.
