Title: Transfer Portal Post by: 2Stater on January 03, 2022, 03:53:06 PM Johyn Rhys Plumlee of Ole Miss and Caleb Williams of Oklahoma enter the transfer portal. The portal is getting ridiculous.

I've always thought he was a good kid. That's not really the issue though, Preacher. Every single player in college football now has unrestricted free agency. That is the problem. Title: Re: Transfer Portal Post by: Chechem on January 03, 2022, 04:53:52 PM This was a surprise to me, especially since Plumlee is a baseball player too. He played a lot of baseball for OM last season.
Caleb might be in Oxford next year. Kiffin needs an experienced QB. The freshman who played against Baylor was good, but Kiffin is ready to move OM up, and this young guy can't do it yet. The kid is obviously a huge talent. The question is, would Caleb really want to go there, knowing that Ole Miss doesn't have the reciever talent that Oklahoma, Bama, tOSU and some of the other top tier programs have? I'd think Ole Miss was a likely spot for Caleb until Jeff Lebby left for Oklahoma. I'm sure Lebby will try to convince Caleb to stay at OK, but reportedly (from his father) Caleb doesn't see OK as a pacle where he can grow as a QB. Certainly Kiffin is a top-tier QB coach, but I agree that his receivers aren't top tier. LSU would be a good fit for Caleb, except their QB (Myles Brennan) was enticed to stay at LSU after entering the transfer portal. Hard to believe LSU would back-stab Myles with a transfer now. :popcorn2: Title: Re: Transfer Portal Post by: ricky023 on January 04, 2022, 10:41:01 AM Well Caleb goes to OM he will have to face the GA and Bama defenses and that is no fun. RTR!

According to 247 Sports, Drew Sanders follows Tyson and Billingsey to the portal. Billingsley probably got reamed for his poor blocking and got his feelings hurt. Title: Re: Transfer Portal Post by: McBaman on January 11, 2022, 08:16:31 PM Here's a list of Bama players that are now in the portal. Don't know that this is the complete list.
https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/33044321/alabama-crimson-tide-seven-players-enter-college-football-transfer-portal Deadline for declaring for NFL draft is coming up soon. (Don't know the exact date.) Gotta wonder if CNS will be looking at who's left in the portal to plug a couple of more holes, like maybe on the OL, Title: Re: Transfer Portal Post by: carl childers on January 12, 2022, 08:31:47 AM Not surprised some Bama players are in the quitter hole due to talent that abounds. I am disappointed that Drew is going - he played well and I know he would be part of a good OLB rotation. As for Billingsley, sometimes you have addition by subtraction...
Title: Re: Transfer Portal Post by: Hannibal Lecter, MD on January 12, 2022, 09:23:31 AM Drew Sanders also caught me by surprise. These days recruiting has to start on your own roster every year.
Title: Re: Transfer Portal Post by: ricky023 on January 12, 2022, 09:48:45 AM Well if they don't bleed crimson they need to leave and make room for those who do. RTR!
Title: Re: Transfer Portal Post by: ricky023 on January 13, 2022, 02:36:28 PM Jaylon Waddle is in the transfer portal. We are losing LB's but why are these not committed to anything they sign up for? RTR!

Title: Re: Transfer Portal Post by: Hannibal Lecter, MD on January 21, 2022, 08:15:24 AM It looks like Moody is going to stick around. That'll give us somewhat experienced depth at MLB.

He must have found out he would not be drafted and have to go as a Free Agent route. RTR! Title: Re: Transfer Portal Post by: Hannibal Lecter, MD on January 23, 2022, 08:05:47 PM Bama picks up some WR help!
Quote Former Georgia wide receiver Jermaine Burton will transfer to Alabama after finishing second on the Bulldogs in receiving yards (and first among wideouts) in 2021, the sophomore announced Sunday evening on Twitter. Burton was a key cog during the Bulldogs' national championship run, catching three passes for 85 yards and a touchdown during the two College Football Playoff games. He finishes his two-year run in Athens with 901 yards receiving, 53 receptions and eight touchdowns. The Calabasas, California, native was rated the No. 9 overall transfer by the 247Sports Transfer Portal ratings and tied with Oklahoma transfer Mario Williams, now with USC, as the top-rated receiver. Burton is the third transfer among the top 10 prospects to choose Alabama, along with former LSU cornerback Eli Ricks and former Georgia Tech running back Jahmyr Gibbs. https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/jermaine-burton-transfers-to-alabama-ex-georgia-wr-continues-crimson-tides-dominant-transfer-portal-run/ Title: Re: Transfer Portal Post by: ricky023 on January 24, 2022, 08:19:41 AM Bama picks up some WR help!
