Title: Barn's Harsin may be in trouble Post by: N.AL-Tider on February 04, 2022, 10:17:30 AM Rumors are getting started that he had an affair with a 23 y/o from Boise State. No link provided...
Title: Re: Barn's Harsin may be in trouble Post by: Chechem on February 04, 2022, 03:53:11 PM …message boards have been buzzing about an affair with one of his staffers. it certainly sounds as if Auburn boosters are looking for a way to cut their losses and fire him for cause, but it’s much more likely that the two sides settle on a reduced buyout. In any case, it seems that Auburn is going to be doing some February head coach shopping, which is never a good thing.

https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/33216111/auburn-tigers-football-coach-bryan-harsin-not-planning-going-anywhere-amid-program-volatility To me, sounds like some of the same institutional/cultural issues of 'outside intereference' with the FB program the Boogs have been dealing with for years. Plus, Harsin seems to want people of character in his team and Malzahn didn't care too much about that as recruiting criteria. So Harsin has to run off some folks. If they get rid of Harsin, they will have a tough time finding a decent HC. The place will be on the 'do not go' list. I don't believe for a second he had an affair - think of the timing (right before a new president was named). I think they threw that in to see if it would stick, and when it didn't have traction, they started interviewing players and coaches to try and get dirt. They have made the decision to get rid of him - they are trying to save a few bucks. I have heard things like, Harsin was trying to run the program as it should be without the involvement from folks behind the scenes that have been problematic for many years. Supposedly he wanted to get rid of the players who don't have the best characters and bring in players with much better characters. If true, this would hurt the feelings of some deep pocket people who have some sway over how things are handled. It makes sense to me that it could be true but who knows if it is or not.Title: Re: Barn's Harsin may be in trouble Post by: SUPERCOACH on February 09, 2022, 03:33:01 PM If he didn't have an affair with that girl, can you imagine what she must be going through? >:( >:( >:(

https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/33260967/auburn-tigers-implement-new-cooperation-policy-amid-investigation-football-coach-bryan-harsin To me, this looks like AU trying to set up a policy that it can use to fire Harsin for cause if he is found to be uncooperative in their investigation. Never mind what he did or didn't do. This makes if all about the process of the investigation. But this can easily blow up on AU. It gives Harsin a way to drag this out, and every day this goes on is bad for AU. Harsin can drag this on through spring ball if he wants to. Imagine what that would be like for the players and ass't coaches. And how can AU coaches have any serious recruiting conversation? The longer this goes, it increases the likelihood that more players will transfer. To be continued..... https://www.al.com/auburnfootball/2022/02/bryan-harsin-keeps-his-job-but-outlook-still-bleak.html IMHO, Harsin comes out a winner: He stared down the alumni mob and the AU admin, and for whatever reason, they backed down. A tobacco chewing, hard drinking good old boy with a southern drawl. Someone who they can relate to and hang out with, not someone like Bowden, Malzahn, Harsin, or Tuberville. It's about being in control with someone like Chizic or Dye. Basically, they have set Harsin up to fail. Also, their AD is toast and was not even consulted about any of this so called "investigation." The AD will be replaced at the end of the season so they can get a puppet AD. These people are always talking about the Auburn Family. Kinda reminds me of the Gotti Family, ruthless and no real moral compass, just power & control.
