Title: Basketball turnover Post by: Hannibal Lecter, MD on April 03, 2023, 07:39:25 AM We currently have Miller, Quinerly, Bediako, and Clowney going towards the draft. Basketball rules are a little different when it comes to the draft and hopefully we can get Bediako back at the least. Clowney isn't NBA ready, IMO, but many thinks he's still a late first round pick due to size, athleticism and potential.
Title: Re: Basketball turnover Post by: pmull on April 03, 2023, 10:23:39 AM Miller is ready and will be gone as a lottery pick. Clowney is not ready, but the NBA likes his potential. He is listed as high as #20 on some draft boards. I think he is gone. Bediako is not NBA ready and not on any draft boards. I think he is doing the smart getting valuable feedback on what he needs to work on. He should be back. Quinerly is tricky. He will be 25 next year. In my opinion he is not what the NBA is looking for. He could go overseas and make a good living. However, he is the 102nd highest NIL earner across all NCAA athletes bringing in $466K. That come entice him to come back.
Gurley and Dom Welch have no more eligibility. Namari Burrett is off to Michigan. Returning we should have Griffen, Pringle, Sears, and Bradley. We have three freshmen coming in and one transfer. We also have Davin Crosby who red shirted as a freshman this year. Four returning, three freshmen, one red shirt, and one transfer is nine scholarship players. Bediako would be ten. That leaves us with three open spots assuming no one else leaves and Quinerly does not come back. Title: Re: Basketball turnover Post by: ricky023 on April 04, 2023, 09:00:00 AM Well CNO has done ok so far. We just have to get to where we have some players playing as SRS. RTR!

Title: Re: Basketball turnover Post by: ricky023 on April 04, 2023, 02:09:35 PM Well one thing for sure we lost to the 2 teams in the NCG and I really figured Uconn would win. I didn't think Uconn was that good when they beat us the first. RTR!
Title: Re: Basketball turnover Post by: ricky023 on May 31, 2023, 09:22:59 AM Alabama Basketball: Major backcourt piece returning for Crimson Tide well this helps for sure. Hate we lost Bediako but Sears will help. RTR!
Title: Re: Basketball turnover Post by: pmull on June 23, 2023, 07:05:35 AM Miller to Charlotte at #2, Clowney to the nets at #21. Bediako goes undrafted but signs as a free agent with the Spurs.
Bamas has 8 players drafted since 2018 beginning with Collin Sexton. We had 0 selected in the ten years prior to that. Title: Re: Basketball turnover Post by: pmull on June 23, 2023, 07:14:00 AM Coach Oats has been on a roll recruiting. In addition to Sears and Quinerly coming back we have picked up two good looking guard transfers. Estrada appears to be a bigger version of Sears. 6-11 Grant Nelson from North Dakota State is cleaning up some schoolwork left to do and is expected to join the team later this year. He is more like Clowney than Bediako. He can stretch the floor and score in many ways. He averaged 19 a game last year. We also just picked up a highly respected (4 or 5 star depending on which service you are looking at) high school player who reclassified so he can play next year. He is 6-10. We have one more spot available if Oats chooses to use it.
Title: Re: Basketball turnover Post by: ricky023 on June 23, 2023, 10:33:47 AM Well it is good to see we have A Basketball coach again. He is pretty good too. RTR!

Quinerly and Sears toyed with going to the NBA and put Coach Oats in a position he had to go out and recruit guards. With Quinerly we have 8 guards on the roster. I think Quinerly is worried about playing time. Oaks took a page out of CNS playbook saying if you are going to shop, we are going to shop. Our roster is looking good for next year and guard play is our strongest position with or without Quinerly. Title: Re: Basketball turnover Post by: Hannibal Lecter, MD on June 27, 2023, 07:23:54 AM He's spent more time in the Portal than the court.
