Title: Has Nate Oats become the king of SEC Basketball? Post by: ricky023 on March 25, 2024, 02:36:57 PM https://bamahammer.com/posts/has-nate-oats-become-the-king-of-sec-basketball-01hst0yf7zm9
To all my fellow Bamaers, can you remember when ALABAMA was considered a favorite in the SEC? RTR! Title: Re: Has Nate Oats become the king of SEC Basketball? Post by: Marshal Dillon on April 04, 2024, 08:35:27 PM Uh, no. He has to win a NC to be considered. I am anxious to see what UK & Calipari do next year. He's on a very warm (extra, extra warm) seat right now. Also, Bruce Pearl is still very competitive but he just hit 64 and has a limited number of years left but Coach K was around 74 when retired so Pearl could be around a while. Todd Golden at Florida is looking good right now.
   Title: Re: Has Nate Oats become the king of SEC Basketball? Post by: ricky023 on April 05, 2024, 07:12:14 PM I think CNO is in the talk but not yet on top. RTR!
Title: Re: Has Nate Oats become the king of SEC Basketball? Post by: pmull on April 06, 2024, 08:32:57 AM Oats is a top tier coach that I am glad is leading our team. The quality of head coaches in the SEC has never been better. It is hard to say who the best coach is because it changes every year. I am glad Greg Byrne renewed Oats contract with a big increase and massive buyout. It appears he is committed to Bama and likes being here.
Who is Arkansas going to hire to replace Musselman? With the right hire Arkansas will be a dominate SEC contender. Barners are not handling our tournament run well. Pearl's one Sweet 16 in 10 years is not looking so good with Bama having 3 out of the last 4 years. They thought they were going to go on a good run, and we would go out in the first round. Arkansas has great BB fans and an excellent arena. With Bama & UK (and maybe UF) in the SEC it won't be easy for anyone to dominate the SEC. UK fans will sell their children to get a great coach at UK. :dunno: Title: Re: Has Nate Oats become the king of SEC Basketball? Post by: pmull on May 06, 2024, 01:52:32 PM We also have 6-10 Aiden Sherrell, a 4 star freshman, coming in. If Jarin Stevenson returns he is also 6-10. Even without Sears this will be our best roster ever. With Sears it will be beyond great.

If we this kind of size for CNO I think we will be tough this year. RTR! Title: Re: Has Nate Oats become the king of SEC Basketball? Post by: N.AL-Tider on May 07, 2024, 02:43:04 PM Nelson is really good but, IMO, we need a big man with some weight. Nelson has shown signs of greatness but he has also been knocked out of contention for rebounds. I'd love to see a big in the range of 6'-11" to 7'-2" with some muscle mass to give us a solid presence underneath the basket.
Maybe I'm wrong though... :dunno: Title: Re: Has Nate Oats become the king of SEC Basketball? Maybe I'm wrong though... :dunno: We are getting a 6-11 240# big man in Big Cliff. That will allow Nelson to play his natural 4 position. Big Cliff is a two time all defensive Big Ten player. Second team all Big Ten. A rim protector and rebounder who will average 10-12 points. The piece we were missing last year. Title: Re: Has Nate Oats become the king of SEC Basketball? Since Cliff Omoruyi was added Bama has jumped from being projected as a Top 10 team next year to Top 2. Kansas and Bama are projected to play for the championship. ESPN Bracketology has Bama projected as a #1 Seed. Title: Re: Has Nate Oats become the king of SEC Basketball? Title: Re: Has Nate Oats become the king of SEC Basketball? Post by: pmull on May 30, 2024, 12:16:30 AM Mark Sears and Jarin Stevenson both withdraw from the NBA and announce they will return to Alabama for another year. That fills all 13 scholarship positions. This team is loaded with talent. This coming year is the most anticipated Alabama basketball season ever.
Title: Re: Has Nate Oats become the king of SEC Basketball? Post by: 2Stater on May 30, 2024, 06:05:55 AM Maybe for the first time ever for Bama fans, the anticipation for basketball season rivals that of football season. :popcorn2:
Title: Re: Has Nate Oats become the king of SEC Basketball? Post by: ricky023 on May 30, 2024, 06:14:25 AM Now CNO has built a juggernaut maybe we can see how much good coaching he has in him. I think he is gonna be a great legacy at Alabama. RTR!
