Title: Former Bama golfer Bud Cauley... Post by: Jamos on October 09, 2011, 04:35:53 PM is tied for 3rd place with a score of -12 in the Frys.com Open Golf Tournament through 9 holes, he trails the leader Briny Baird -14 and Ernis Els -13 with nine more holes to play.
For a first year player on the PGA tour, this young man has had a fantastic start to his Pro career. Tiger Woods is at -6 with one hole to play. Title: Re: Former Bama golfer Bud Cauley... Post by: Jamos on October 09, 2011, 07:16:07 PM Cauley -15, has his career best finish in his young golf career. He will finish in 3rd place alone behind Briny Baird and Bryan Moulter who are tied at -17 and are now a playoff.
I'm sure this will do great things for Cauley in his effort to earn his players card for next year. Title: Re: Former Bama golfer Bud Cauley... Post by: pmull on October 09, 2011, 07:47:10 PM Cauley has had several good finishes this year. He may be high enough on the money list to get his card without going to Q School.

Post by: pmull on October 09, 2011, 08:08:57 PM I've been looking at Bud's stats and he had a big day today. His third place finish won him $340,000 and all but assures him of getting his tour card.
NBC Sports Article: Quote SAN MARTIN, Calif. — Bud Cauley may have come up just shy of his first PGA Tour win, but a third place finish for the Alabama product at the Frys.com Open all but assures his card for 2012. Cauley closed with 5-under 66 to finish in solo third and earn $340,000 for the effort at CordeValle. Combined with the $331,150 made in his first six starts as a professional, he will have enough to surge into the equivalent of 114th on the money list. Barring an accounting anamoly, Cauley will finish the year inside the top-125 on the money list. He is looking good to become the first player since Ryan Moore in 2005 to earn his tour card as a rookie without having to go to Q-school. The last guy to do that before Moore? Tiger Woods. http://progolftalk.nbcsports.com/2011/10/09/cauley-poised-to-earn-tour-card-after-cordevalle-finish/ Title: Re: Former Bama golfer Bud Cauley... That is just great and puts him into some tall cotton when you get recognized with Tiger in his early years. Title: Re: Former Bama golfer Bud Cauley...
