Trent Richardson hasn't lost a fumble in a couple of years, but he figures the consequences are pretty clear.

"We fumble that ball," Alabama's star tailback says, "we're going to be on the bench somewhere."

Add the second-ranked Crimson Tide's nearly maternal instinct to protect the football to the primary reasons why this team hasn't been challenged through six games this season.

That is not by accident either.  TR could put on a clinic on ball security.  He always carries the ball high and tight against his body and in the correct arm.  I noticed him switching arms in the Vandy game the other night as he broke through the pack and headed toward the sideline.  The fact that he can bench press a bus doesn't hurt either.  White and some of the younger guys who need some help in this area need to pay attention to how he does things.
