Title: McCarron's success no surprise to those who know him (Blogger roundtable) Post by: 2Stater on October 15, 2011, 06:30:22 AM http://www.al.com/sports/index.ssf/2011/10/mccarrons_success_no_surprise.html
Quote Alabama Question: For a guy who wasn't named the full-time starter until after the first game, AJ McCarron has held up his end of the bargain as Alabama's starting quarterback so far. Is McCarron the kind of QB who can take the Tide to a championship? Discuss his status and progression as a starter. I think AJ is doing a fine job. He doesn't make mistakes and makes good decisions most of the time. I only see him getting better. It just goes to show us that when these players get the attention and reps in practice, it makes all the difference in the world in their performance. Roll Tide!!

I don't think he was mature enough to handle the starting job last year. I was like you, wasn't sure about this year either, but I've been very impressed with the way he has embraced the process. He got rid of that gunslinger attitude and really runs this team well. I really hope PS stays around to pick up where AJ leaves off when he graduates. That young man has a lot of raw talent and will only improve as well. I was wrong. :-[ AJ is the right man for the job. I was concerned he would throw too many balls up for grabs. He has done a good job managing the team and protecting the ball. I'm hoping Sims sees a lot of action today, Bama has some very physical games ahead of them and we all know who these defenses will be going after. McCarron hasn't taken many shots this year and it's hard to say how tough he is, but I sure would like to see Sims get more touches. I really think Sims sees the handwriting on the wall and will transfer. I hate it, but I don't see him waiting around for two more years. :dunno: Title: Re: McCarron's success no surprise to those who know him (Blogger roundtable) Post by: cbbama99 on October 15, 2011, 10:34:19 AM This would be a good time for you Team Sims guys to apologize! He might stick around, get a couple of rings, then have a monster senior year on his way to the league. :dunno: Title: Re: McCarron's success no surprise to those who know him (Blogger roundtable) Post by: Jamos on October 15, 2011, 11:24:49 AM This would be a good time for you Team Sims guys to apologize! But Sims has to know he is being groomed for a NC down the road.

If we're gonna go all the way this year with AJ, we'd best do it now... next year, we'll lose just about our whole D. It will be interesting to see how both QB's adjust. But for now...I'm satisfied with BOTH young men @ the helm. :D |
