TUSCALOOSA, Alabama -- Alabama remains No. 2 in this week's Associated Press college football poll.

LSU still is ranked No. 1. The two Southeastern Conference schools are less than three weeks away from a Nov. 5 showdown at Bryant-Denny Stadium.

Oklahoma still is ranked No. 3, followed by Wisconsin and Boise State. LSU received 41 first-place votes, one more than a week ago. Alabama received 11, which also is one more than it received a week ago. Oklahoma received six first-place votes, two less than it got last week.

LSU tops the poll with 1,452 points, two more than a week ago. Alabama trails by 41 points, four less than a week ago. Oklahoma trails LSU by 80 points, 12 more than it did last week.

Bama and LSU both picked up one additional first place vote from last week.  As the ESPN SEC bloggers mentioned this morning, the gap is widening.  Not just between LSU/Bama and the other 10 SEC teams.  Between LSU/Bama and the entire country methinks.
