BCS POLL - http://espn.go.com/college-football/bcs

The first BCS rankings of the season were released Sunday night with LSU No. 1, Alabama No. 2, Oklahoma No. 3 and Oklahoma State No. 4.

The BCS folks and supporters should be happy because, based on the same scenario, it is the biggest benefactor.

The SEC, home of the past five national champions, has the top two teams in the rankings and a good chance of at least having one of its teams play for a sixth straight crown.

The Big 12 can suggest it remains a viable league and point to its teams at the No. 3 and No. 4 spots to support the claim.

The Alabama-LSU loser will hope for circumstances that would create a rematch in the national title game.

Again, I am not sure what they were thinking by making the Harris Poll 1/3 of the total BCS equation. It comes out today. The BCS came out yesterday. :-\ ??? :-\ ???

Signed,

Confused

PS: We'll work on "Why the Corches Poll?" tomorrow.

Call PF when he has Brad Edwards or Jerry Palm on as a guest.

"This is 'BAMAWV' and I would like to know why the Harris poll comes out after the BCS poll is released"?

A win over LSU will be the real NC. I figure we win but worry about injuries.

Or why the BCS poll comes out before a new Harris poll. I'm posing this as a question for anyone to interject on why they they would use "stale" data on the BCS formula? Maybe they are not. Maybe we get the Harris poll a day late but the BCS people get a new and updated one in timely fashion.

BTW, this is the hard hitting investigative reporting that Cecil and Chris Low should be doing RATHER THAN STEALING MY MESSAGE BOARD MATERIAL.

Okay. If they select me to acheive geographical diversity they have made a huge mistake. RTR

Not sure I want to belong to a group that'll have me as a member.

Do you think the BCS is hoping that another SEC team makes it to the NCG this year?

The BCS expert was on showing what would happen as to the other bowls, if 2 SEC teams play for NC. Hard rule that no more than 2 teams from a conference can get in--AQ or at large. What aggrevates me, again this year, is if the picks were made today #15 WVU would be playing in a top tier bowl (Orange).

Boise will get a BCS bowl as well. I doubt if they would even finish 5th in the West.
