Title: Books on coaches
Post by: cbbama99 on October 17, 2011, 07:58:44 PM
Anybody recommend some good books on coaches (or even players, for that matter) from the University? I have a couple on CPB, so I am stocked there. I mean are there any out there on Coach Thomas, Coach Wade, and ANY players from throughout the years? I know this is an intelligent board that will offer thoughtful answers on this question.

Eli Gold has one or two he had published that are fairly new. I haven't read them but I heard they are good.

Rammer Jammer Yellow Hammer: A Road Trip into the Heart of Fan Mania by Warren St. John is great. I have it and bought a copy for my daughter 2 years ago for Christmas.

John Forney wrote a book called "Above The Noise Of The Crowd - Thirty Years Behind the Alabama Microphone". It is a very good book.

Gene Stallings has a book that is mostly about his late son Johnny. It has a lot of football stories and one whole chapter about the 1992 season.

South Alabama coach and former player Joey Jones wrote a good book. It was about being recruited by Coach Bryant and playing for Ray Perkins.

"Rammer Jammer Yellow Hammer" is a more recent book written by Warren St. John.

I think Kupkake mentioned a book about Joe Namath one time.  I'm sure she will have some good suggestions.
