Title: bye week annoying things that announcers say thread Post by: jtide on October 23, 2011, 08:06:43 PM I'm beyond sick of these cliches....."that's why he's a defensive back and not a receiver".........after a dropped interception.
Or, how about "dial up", as in "let's see what the ole ball coach dials up here" Okay, I feel better now. Title: Re: bye week annoying things that announcers say thread Post by: 2Stater on October 23, 2011, 09:09:27 PM "Tackle was made by Orlando McClain".

Title: Re: bye week annoying things that announcers say thread Post by: jtide on October 24, 2011, 10:57:35 AM I love TR, but do they have to go on, and on, and on, about how wide his freakin' "base" is? Geesh, we got it after the first 100 times they pointed it out!

"Under the bus" seems to be getting a work out, in football and in life.Or, how about "dial up", as in "let's see what the ole ball coach dials up here" Okay, I feel better now. My favorite has got to be, "Did you see that?" While listening to the radio. Also, if I hear one more story about how Tyrann Mathieu got the nickname "Honey Badger" I might throw something at the T.V. Oh, and pretty much anything said by Verne Lundquist. Title: Re: bye week annoying things that announcers say thread Post by: MLB10 on October 25, 2011, 02:00:00 PM During the LSU/TN game, Verne and Gary invited Peyton Manning up into the booth. The lovefest was almost unwatchable. LSU scored a touchdown and nobody even said anything...the screen flashed "touchdown" while they kept drooling and fawning over Peyton and saying he was welcome in their booth anytime. Peyton's reaction was basically "thanks...but I hope I don't get stuck in broadcasting anytime soon...I am the one with the dream job here." I think Verne and Gar-Bear needed a cigarette afterwards.

Yep, PAYING MONEY to go to a game and then sitting there with a bag over your head. Pure genius. |
