Title: Saban's coaching not always art, but this year's job a masterpiece Post by: Coach Hank Crisp on October 27, 2011, 08:51:17 AM http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2011/writers/paul_finebaum/10/27/nick.saban/index.html
Quote I took my wife to the world-famous museum on Manhattan's Upper East Side last spring and couldn't wait to show her the collection of the Old Masters. Her less than enthusiastic reaction to the art was similar to her observation last Saturday night as we watched the first hald of the Tennessee-Alabama game. "They are going to lose this game," she said, underwhelmed at Alabama's droopy performance. "They look awful.'' The score was 6-6 at halftime, and Alabama looked like it was still being coached by Mike Shula, instead of Nick Saban. "Just wait," I said patiently, having seen this flick seven times previously this season. "There are still two halves in football." In the second half, Alabama scored 31 unanswered points, didn't allow a first down and was taking a knee at the end of the game near the Vols' end zone as the Tide rolled to a 37-6 victory over Saban's former assistant, Derek Dooley. He's looking for his ear in the first half, with no success, then finds it at halftime. Coming out of the tunnel to start the 2nd half, he sees his own shadow and the rest of the NCAA world experiences 6 more weeks of azz whoopins.

I heard a scenario similar to this in a movie once. Can't remember which one, but was funny as the devil. I don't know why this thread made me think of it. |
