Nick Saban is rapidly becoming known for his meticulous style of college scouting and recruiting athletes. Constant informational updates, statistical adjustments and exchanging of data between his ten or more scouting and recruiting team members makes his method one of the most detailed, exhaustive, and ultimately successful in the nation.  Beginning with his days at LSU, Saban has brought his college recruiting system to Alabama, where he continues to enjoy success as the head football coach responsible for three top-rated recruiting classes in the country.

With two national championships, one in 2008 with LSU and one in 2010 with Alabama, Saban has 43 of his college athletes currently playing professional football in the NFL.  Saban has an overall record of 139-67-1 (.674) in 16 seasons as a head coach, and Saban’s 2009 squad was highly decorated with honors, as Rolando McClain received the Butkus Award as the nation’s top linebacker and six players earned first team AP All-American status – a record-high in college football.

It’s no doubt that technology has become a massive part of modern scouting and recruiting.  More than ever, recruits and coaches are contacting one another via email, text, social media, etc.  With FieldLevel’s centralized network, database, and technology, coaches and athletes can manage their athlete recruiting information quickly, easily, and effectively.  This is how FieldLevel would help manage Nick Saban’s five-phase recruiting process.

Saban’s “doctrine of recruiting [...] is meticulous, methodical, and relentless in every single aspect of the recruiting process”.

The problem is, most coaches don't have the energy to coach and recruit this way.  They won't dedicate their lives to it.  So, knowing how to do it won't help most of them.

It's not a new concept:

"If you believe in yourself and have dedication and pride..."
