Title: Five Hour Energy drink Post by: N.AL-Tider on March 17, 2011, 12:19:03 PM Anybody tried it? THoughts?
I bought one yesterday and took two small sips of it on my way home around 3:15. I couldn't tell it effected me at all until bedtime about 6-7 hours later and I was bug-eyed for a bit. Then, I drank the rest of it this morning when I left home for my 35 minute commute to work. IT WORKS! It had me a good bit fidgety for a while. It also tastes horrible... Title: Re: Five Hour Energy drink Post by: Flyboy on March 17, 2011, 12:24:50 PM I usually take one before a late evening bike ride but can't stand them any other time.
Title: Re: Five Hour Energy drink Post by: Terrie1959 on March 17, 2011, 12:46:37 PM How can you drink something that tastes bad? I've never tried one but would if they tasted good and I needed the boost
I am not being snarky - I'm just curious because if something tastes horrible to me, I usually end up gagging. Title: Re: Five Hour Energy drink Post by: TAZRUGBY on March 17, 2011, 01:04:34 PM I haven't tried that one. But the ones I have tried were NASTY!!
Title: Re: Five Hour Energy drink Post by: pmull on March 17, 2011, 01:17:26 PM I have never tried one. I see people at the gym use them all the time before a workout. They tell me it works.

Title: Re: Five Hour Energy drink Post by: Allie on March 17, 2011, 01:58:54 PM I've never tried them.
They scare me a little. My BIL would drink 3 of those at a time when he was on meth. Clarification: If he were somewhere where he couldn't get meth he substituted Stackers. I drink 60+ ounces of DMD daily though... hmmmm.... My own addiction. Title: Re: Five Hour Energy drink Post by: ricky023 on March 17, 2011, 02:07:47 PM I never tried that stuff. I am not sure about being figgidty. lol, RTR!

Title: Re: Five Hour Energy drink Post by: SUPERCOACH on March 18, 2011, 07:29:44 PM What is the best thing to drink to keep you from getting drowsy when you are traveling and have a long drive ahead? Preferably something that doesn't taste too horrible.

Title: Re: Five Hour Energy drink Post by: S-AL-Tider on March 19, 2011, 12:11:27 PM Kinda bitter to me Rick. There also was an article a while back that mentioned a few that were not good for you. Having said that, seems a lot of things we eat and drink are in the news about not being healthy for us.
Title: Re: Five Hour Energy drink Post by: ricky023 on March 19, 2011, 12:17:55 PM Hey S-AL-Tider, I know. It seems almost like nothing in the world is working right for some reason. I guess we are going to have to grow our own food. LOL. RTR!
Title: Re: Five Hour Energy drink Post by: carl childers on March 19, 2011, 07:42:15 PM I drink one about a hour before I go on the field to referee HS football games. They help my energy level quite a bit and I don't crash when it wears off. They also do not make me jittery.
Title: Re: Five Hour Energy drink Post by: Allie on March 19, 2011, 07:53:05 PM Does it work for those I-ate-too-much-steak-and-wanna-crash nights?

Title: Re: Five Hour Energy drink Post by: Terrie1959 on March 21, 2011, 08:38:40 AM Has anyone tried "Spark"? It's by Advocare I think. My sister and Brother in Law love them. All natural vitamins, etc. Supposedly really helps your energy level.
They left me a package this weekend. You pour it into a bottle of water and shake. Supposed to be good.. i haven't tried it yet though. Title: Re: Five Hour Energy drink Post by: ricky023 on March 21, 2011, 12:15:12 PM I had a B12 shot I wonder if that is equal to the 5 HR? RTR!

Nah - just finished my 14th year on the field last year. I love it - keeps me involved with the game and today's players. Title: Re: Five Hour Energy drink Post by: ricky023 on March 24, 2011, 02:42:33 PM My compliments Carl. I have a question may sound harsh, but do you as a Ref. ever have one way or the other you would like to lean but you know you can't? RTR!
Title: Re: Five Hour Energy drink Post by: carl childers on March 24, 2011, 02:48:29 PM My compliments Carl. I have a question may sound harsh, but do you as a Ref. ever have one way or the other you would like to lean but you know you can't? RTR! ricky, it is human nature to want to throw a flag against a team with a jerk for a coach or one or two jerk players. However, the officials who take their job seriously do not let personal feelings or bias get in the way. It takes a commitment to want to get better and to be a professional. There have been times I wanted to say something derogatory toward a coach or player, but that's not my job. Fans don't pay their money to see me - they pay to see the players and a good game. If a game is over and I am not noticed, I think I did my job. Title: Re: Five Hour Energy drink Post by: ricky023 on March 24, 2011, 03:00:54 PM Wow, so cool Carl. I am so greatful to have a friendship with someone who can stand by commitment. RTR!
