Title: "Big East conference: the second choice for U. Memphis" SEC??

Earlier this month, in the midst of the conference realignment speculative extravaganza, Memphis athletic director R.C. Johnson played college football’s version of Jon Stewart, giving us all a good LOL by suggesting his school deserved to be in the SEC.

Hey, man. Realignment’s been taxing on all of us. Someone’s gotta break the tension with a knee-slapper.

They wouldn't get a single vote.  Delusional?

I still think UM is a great fit for the Big East - great BB program and natural rivalry with Louisville & Cincinnati. And while the SEC is a big stretch right now, if UM could get the support of a big donor(s) to upgrade their football facilities to the level of the BB program and hire a big time coach I believe they would be able to build a great football program. It wouldn't take much improvement for UM to be better than MSU, Ole Miss and Vandy.

Hey, I know, maybe we can start an SEC minor league farm system.  Maybe UAB can be the 1A team for Bama.
