Quote TUSCALOOSA - By the end of the week, Alabama officials expect to have approved approximately 600 working press credentials for the big game Saturday night at Bryant-Denny Stadium. For an average game, roughly 350 credentials are granted, a member of Alabama's media relations staff said. For a home game against Auburn or Tennessee, the number is more like 450. As of Tuesday, more than 550 requests had been approved and nearly 100 denied for the 7 p.m. game between second-ranked Alabama and top-ranked LSU. Extra seats will be utilized and tables will be added to a photo deck to accommodate some members of the news media. Others will stand. Some will be on the field, including four Sports Illustrated photographers. Among the news organizations that will be represented are The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, The Boston Globe, the Chicago Sun-Times, the Houston Chronicle and The Miami Herald, plus CBSSports.com, FoxSports.com, Sports Illustrated and SI.com, ESPN and ESPN.com. Some of the national news organizations will be represented by multiple people.
