LSU tight end Deangelo Peterson certainly isn’t shying away from the gamesmanship of a game like Saturday’s.

The senior threw a quick jab at the Alabama defense in a Wednesday interview in Baton Rouge.

“I think I can play a big role because I feel like their linebackers can’t guard me one-on-one. They’re slow,” he told reporters. “I don’t think their safeties can either. If the ball comes my way, I’ll make an opportunity with it.”

Alabama linebacker Courtney Upshaw said he’d heard rumblings of some verbal sparring when asked about it Wednesday evening, but Alabama media relations suggested avoiding any response.

CU will talk on the field.  I can't wait.  Do you have any more of those chill pills?  I'm about to get fired up in here.

I here ya, SC. I've resorted to a glass of wine on an off-night for me, just to maintain calm.

We will do all of our talking on the field. I think a certain lsu tight end, might need help getting off the field. I see pain in his future.

Well pills and drugs are the reason this guy is talking like he does. He is out-of-his-head. RTR!

A) Every time I hear something like this I'm so glad Saban controls who gets to speak to the media on Alabama's team.
B) I can't wait for Hightower to introduce himself to Peterson.

CLM should really talk to the boys about keeping their mouth shut. Haven't they seen what happens when a player mouths off about an opponent? That opponent shows up to kick their tails.  I believe we will win and win with class. I prefer to talk "smack" AFTER we win the game. Until then, it's better to just believe we will win, say we will win.  Then AFTER the win, all bets are off - let the smack begin :)   lol

Trash talking is a sign of an undisciplined team.

Don't be mad at him.  It's the drugs and alcohol talking.  :(

LSU Notes: Tight end calls Alabama linebackers 'slow'

After a relatively quiet two-week buildup, the senior from New Orleans threw down the bulletin board gauntlet in interviews Tuesday night.

“I think I can play a big role because I feel like their linebackers can’t guard me one-on-one, and I don’t think their safeties can either,” Peterson said. “If the ball comes my way, I’ll make an opportunity with it.”

And Peterson kept going. Asked why he liked the matchup, he said simply, “They’re slow. They’re big. I don’t think they can run with me. I feel like I can get open against their linebackers.”

Peterson (6-foot-4, 243 pounds) is third on LSU in receiving with 12 catches for 137 yards and a touchdown. He does have a receiver-like build and speed, and Alabama linebackers Don’t’a Hightower and Courtney Upshaw – considered two of the best in the country – are larger than most college linebackers at 260 and 265 pounds, respectively.

There is also a linebacker saying he can tackle TR or anybody in the country all by himself and he doesn't need any help.  I don't have the link, but maybe someone else has seen it too.  It seems like it was on an ESPN article.
