TUSCALOOSA, Alabama -- The overwhelming sound of success seems to rattle in the ears a bit longer.

The volume of 92,969 fans in Tiger Stadium after LSU's 24-21 win last season over Alabama could pierce the eardrum.

The silent nature of failure also is jarring in a disturbingly quiet sense. The arms of quarterbacks last season orchestrated crescendos for both teams.

It's quite possible victory or defeat could once again hinge on the strength, accuracy and consistency of the quarterbacks with both defenses poised to pile sandbags in front of the running game.

Last season, LSU used the combination of Jordan Jefferson and Jarrett Lee to upset the Tide. Jefferson completed 10 of 13 for 141 yards and a touchdown. Lee was 4-of-7 for 67 yards.

Who is their 3rd QB?  2 might not be enough.
